ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 22. Extended Help For Interrupt Levels ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this option to change the interrupt levels used by the ActionMedia (tm) II
Display Adapter.
You should only change these levels if they clash with other adapters already
installed in your system.
Select a unique level for each device, because only one device is allowed per
interrupt level.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 29. Extended Help For Displays ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
ActionMedia (tm) II needs to be told about the displays attached to your
system.
You can attach up to three displays to your ActionMedia (tm) II system:
o The main system display, attached to the system unit
o A display attached directly to the ActionMedia (tm) II Display Adapter
o A television or VCR attached to the auxiliary video (YC) output of the
ActionMedia (tm) II Display Adapter.
You can remove the need for a separate ActionMedia (tm) II display by using
the supplied video cable, which allows ActionMedia (tm) II output to be mixed
onto the system display. This is the recommended way to connect the Display
Adapter.
Specify whether you are using the video cable by selecting either Yes or No in
this dialog.
The ActionMedia (tm) II Display Adapter is capable of supplying a television
signal to displays connected to its video cable output connector, and its
auxiliary (YC) video output connector.
There is no need to state whether or not the auxiliary connector is being
used. It will always be showing the current ActionMedia (tm) II video output,
in the currently selected video standard.
The standards supported by your display(s) need to be specified. The
recognised standards are:
640 x 480 (60Hz) This is the normal 640x480 interlaced resolution display.
640 x 480 (72Hz) This is the VESA 640x480 non-interlaced resolution display.
640 x 480 (75Hz) This is the IBM 640x480 non-interlaced resolution display.
1024 x 768 (43.5Hz) This is the high resolution 1024x768 interlaced resolution
display. Any IBM display that supports this resolution also supports
the 640x480 interlaced resolution.
PAL A common television standard.
NTSC A common television standard.
Use the Display Alignment options to adjust the positioning of the ActionMedia
(tm) II video output with respect to the VGA or XGA output. Experiment with
these settings to find the values which work best for your system.
Click on OK to save the changes, or click on Cancel to leave this option
without saving any changes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 30. Help For Displays Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select a component in this dialog box and click on the Help button to receive
specific help for that component.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 31. ActionMedia (tm) II Video Cable Installed ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Yes and No buttons to specify whether the ActionMedia (tm) II video
cable is installed on your system.
The video cable is the Y shaped cable, supplied with your ActionMedia (tm) II
Display Adapter. It allows the normal video output of your computer to be mixed
with the video output of the ActionMedia (tm) II Display Adapter.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 32. ActionMedia (tm) II Display Capabilities ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this option to specify what the display attached to the ActionMedia (tm) II
Display Adapter is capable of showing. This applies to displays connected to
the video cable output connector on the ActionMedia (tm) II Display Adapter.
There is no need to state whether or not the auxiliary connector is being used.
It will always be showing the current ActionMedia (tm) II video output, in the
currently selected video standard.
All the various combinations possible are listed. Select the setting which is
correct for your hardware.
The combinations listed are made up the following selections:
640 x 480 (60Hz) This is the normal 640x480 interlaced resolution display.
640 x 480 (72Hz) This is the VESA 640x480 non-interlaced resolution display.
640 x 480 (60Hz) This is the ISO 640x480 non-interlaced resolution display.
1024 x 768 (43.5Hz) This is the high resolution 1024x768 interlaced resolution
display. Any IBM display that supports this resolution also supports
the 640x480 interlaced resolution.
PAL A common television standard.
NTSC A common television standard.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 33. Display Alignment ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use these options to adjust the positioning of the ActionMedia (tm) II video
output with respect to the VGA or XGA output. Experiment with these settings to
find the values which work best for your system.
Negative values for the horizontal alignment cause the ActionMedia (tm) II
video output to be offset to the left, and positive values cause the video
output to be offset to the right.
Negative values for the vertical alignment cause the ActionMedia (tm) II video
output to be offset upwards, and positive values cause the video output to be
offset downwards.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 34. Extended Help For Audio ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this option to specify the ActionMedia (tm) II audio settings. These are:
o The default volumes for each of the stereo playback channels (between 0% and
100%)

microphone, or a CD player).
Click on OK to save the changes, or click on Cancel to leave this option
without saving any changes.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 36. Input Device ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
ActionMedia (tm) II needs to be told the sort of audio input device you are
using.
There are three basic settings:
1. A microphone
2. A line level device (for example, a tape player)
3. A CD player.
Click on the most appropriate device for your setup.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 37. Output Volumes ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
