The Data Folder as a Shadow of a hard Disk Directory
----------------------------------------------------
The folder "DATA" that is created by the DDEDIT DipWriter
procedure is a SHADOW of the directory Data. (normally it has
the path C:\ddedit\data) Both the enhanced and normal OS/2
system editor Program Objects will use this directory as a
working directory. Any file saved into this directory will
automatically be mirrored into the Data folder as a data file
object.
To open one of these files simple select it by pointing the
mouse to the object and clicking once with the left mouse
button, then click and hold with the right mouse button and
"Drag" the object over top of one of the editors. Then release
the right mouse button ("Drop") to have the editor open the file.
Try creating new files with the editor and watch them appear in
the folder!
Try dragging a file to the shredder and watch it Disappear!!
Unlock the power of the desktop with DipWriter!!
