Extract2
Ver 1.0 - 06/07/89
An OS/2 UnZip/UnArc Utility
Copyright (C) 1989 FreeLance Programming. All rights reserved.
Extract2 (tm) is a utility designed for working with archive files. It
provides all the capabilities of both PKUNZIP (tm) and PKUNPAK (tm) in one
convenient program. Extract2 will allow you to perform list/test/extract
functions transparently across both .ARC and .ZIP files. The program will
automatically detect the appropriate file type (and will search for both .ARC
and .ZIP extensions if the input file spec does not contain an extension).
Run Extract2 with no parms for a display of the correct usage syntax.
Limitations:
- Will not handle multi-volume .ZIP files
- Will not handle the long obsolete version 1 .ARC files
- "UnCrunching" has been thoroughly tested for the current "Crunch"
algorithm. However, older versions of .ARC used a number of different
algorithms, all labeled "Crunching". Although every effort has been made
to assure that the handling of the older algorithm(s) is correct, I have
been unable to actually test this code, as I have no .ARC files with
members compressed using those algorithms.
Should you discover any problems while using Extract2, I welcome hearing
about them. Bug reports can be mailed to the address below, or you can leave
a message (to "Sysop") on my BBS (phone # shown at the bottom of this file).
When reporting bugs, a copy of the .ARC or .ZIP file you are trying to process
should be included along with a complete report of the problems with trying
to process it.
Extract2 is a user-supported program. Users may copy and distribute this
program without restriction, and may experiment with the program on a trial-
