SECURE PM 1.0 for OS/2
DISCLAIMER:
This product is provided 'AS IS' without any warranty of any kind.
The entire risk as to the results and performance of the program is
assumed by you.
DESCRIPTION:
SECURE PM 1.0 is a piece of software that will do its best to
secure the WPS. Once SECURE PM is ran, clicking on an object
won't run any other programs or open any folders. CTRL-ESC and
ALT-ESC keys combinations won't work either, so you have a pretty
secure WPS. The only way you can 'un-lock' your WPS is by
providing the right password. NOTE: (When configuring a password
for SECURE PM - make sure you don't forget the password - or you
won't be able to access any of the objects)
SECURE PM was designed using VX-REXX 2.0 so you will need the
' VROBJ.DLL ' in order to run this program. That file is NOT included
in the compressed file. You can download this file from CompuServe
or by calling Watcom BBS at 1-519-884-2103 (settings: 8,N,1)
INSTALLATION:
1.) Create a directory on your hard disk.
2.) Copy 'all' files (even the icon files) found in the compressed file
to the directory created in step 1.
3.) At the WPS use the template folder to create an object for the
SECURE.EXE file. Make sure you give it a working directory when
you set up the object.
4.) Move the just created object to your 'STARTUP' folder, so that
SECURE PM can be the first program to load.
HOW TO USE SECURE PM 1.0 FOR OS/2:
When SECURE PM is ran for the first time, it will let you know that
you need to configure a password for it to work.
You configure and change a password by clicking on the 'Configure'
button.
First time configuration - You give a value (password) to the 'New
Password' field...this will be your new password.
Change Password - When changing for a new password, you must
provide the 'old' password and then enter the 'new' password.
SECURE PM will NOT double check for 'new' password, once you click
to 'save' your new password .... that's it.
NOTE: (When configuring a password for SECURE PM - make sure
you don't forget the password - or you won't be able to
access any of the objects)
For better security make sure SECURE PM is always the first program
to run, by placing it in the STARTUP folder.
