  2.  XGA.SYS needs to be copied to the OS2 directory under the RIPL tree and the    
  3.  DLL's need to be copied to the OS2\DLL directory of the RIPL tree.  In         
  4.  addition the files XGARING0.SYS need to be copied from the service pak
  5.  server OS2 directory to the OS2 directory of the RIPL tree and DISPLAY.DLL
  6.  and DSPRES.DLL must be copied from the OS2\DLL directory of the service pak
  7.  server 
  8.                                                                                 
  9.  DSPRES.DLL must be copied from the OS2\DLL directory of the service pak
  10.  server to the OS2\DLL directory of the RIPL tree.                                     
  11.                                                                                 
  12.  Once these files are in place the CONFIG.20 for each RIPL workstation must     
  13.  be modified to include the statement:  BASEDEV=XGA.SYS                         
  14.  and the FIT files for each RIPL workstation need to be modified as follows:    
  15.  Z:\OS2\DLL\DISPLAY.DLL   OS2.20\OS2\DLL\DISPLAY.DLl                            
  16.  which will replace Z:\OS2\DLL\DISPLAY.DLL   OS2.20\OS2\DLL\XGA.DLL

  18.  With these fixes the workstation will RIPL in XGA with the service pak.        
  19.                                                                                 
  20.  Sorry it took so long to figure out what was wrong.  When files are missing    
  21.  the problem is not a code break but simply missing code.                       
  22.                                                                                 
  23.  The defect is being routed to the install folks for service pak to have        
  24.  the proper files installed from the Display Driver Disks.  Also the files      
  25.  that replace the failing components are available in the 2.1 code.

  27.  I am also inclosing copies of the config.20 and *.fit files from my
  28.  successfully RIPLed workstation.  In addition I have REMed out the
  29.  XGARING0.SYS file.  This should not have to be REMed out but it does work
  30.  with this situation.  The only reason that you would need this is for 1.3
  31.  applications that require the XGARING0.SYS.

  33.  XGARING0.SYS, DISPLAY.DLL, and DSPRES.DLL have been added to XGARIPL.ZIP by
  34.  Kenn Dimock so that all the files required are accessible from one place.  
  35.  These files are the ones used in my testing and successful RIPLing of XGA.
