How to be a BEM Server
For a COMPORT connection:
1. Tell the Client the phone number for your modem and how long it
will take you to get the modem set up (add 1 minute for YAK/BEM).
2. Double-click on the Overseer object in the Server folder.
3. Double-click on the COM object in the Server folder.
4. Double-click on the Local Player object in the Server folder to start
your game.
5. PLAY BEM!!!
For an Internet/other TCPIP connection:
1. Start your SLIP connection and get in touch with the Clients through
email or IRC.
2. Double-click on the Overseer object in the Server folder.
3. Double-Click on Player1 (5000). Go to Telnet page in the Settings
notebook and look at your Hostname/IP address located at the bottom.
4. Tell your Clients your Hostname/IP address and the port number
you've assigned to them (we recommend 5000, 5001, etc).
5. Double-click on each Player you've assigned.
6. Double-click on the Local Player object in the Server folder to start
your game.
7. PLAY BEM!!!
For a Direct connection (two machines connected by a serial cable):
1. Double-click on the Overseer object in the Server folder.
2. Double-click on the Direct-Connect object in the Server folder.
3. Double-click on the Local Player object in the Server folder to start
your game.
4. PLAY BEM!!!
Troubleshooting:
Note that YAK is running minimized. If you receive any communication
errors, go to the window list and CLOSE YAK.
