  19.     "ZTreeBold" is a text-mode file/directory manager for OS/2.  It 
  20.     has been developed as a native OS/2 alternative to the DOS product,
  21.     XTreeGold (tm), since its makers have ceased any further development.
  22.     While I am sure you are well aware of the virtues of XTreeGold, you
  23.     know the disadvantages of it being a 16-bit DOS program.  I wrote 
  24.     ZTreeBold to provide all the functionality I am so accustomed to, while 
  25.     avoiding all the DOS imposed limitations.

  27.     Given time and incentive, I intend to provide all missing functions,
  28.     and will welcome suggestions from you the user.

  33.     This program is NOT free.  You are granted a limited licence to evaluate
  34.     the product for 31 days from the date of first use.  To continue using
  35.     this version after 31 days, you MUST register.  Each subsequent release
  36.     of this product will allow a full 31 days evaluation from time of
  37.     installation.

  47.     This version now contains most of the core functionality.  Archive
  48.     support has been added, using the ARCHIVER.BB2 configuration file,
  49.     courtesy of Mr Mark Kimes.  There are no autoview type modules yet.
  50.     These *may* be developed on a most requested basis.

  52.     There is NO internal editor.  Instead, ZTreeBold will use your
  53.     favorite file editor (I currently use Brief for OS/2.).  The default
  54.     editor is E.EXE, but of course, full-screen programs are preferable in
  55.     this application.

  57.     There is currently no mouse support, because as most XTree fans would
  58.     agree, the power of the program comes from it's fast, concise keyboard
  59.     interface.  However, if there is enough interest in a mouse interface,
  60.     it will obviously be given serious consideration.

  62.     There are several functions that are yet to be implemented.  Most are
  63.     trivial services that you will probably never miss.  Others are more
  64.     important, and will be introduced on a most requested basis.

  66.     The highlighting of commands on the last three lines of the screen
  67.     should make the function support quite obvious.  If there is a
  68.     function missing you particularly miss, let me know.

  70.     Well, that is all the bad news.  Here are some improvements over the
  71.     original.
  72.  
  73.     ZTreeBold uses around 400K of memory, and will allocate and free
  74.     blocks dynamically as required (no more 'out of memory' messages).
  75.  
  76.     The default video mode is 25x80.  The Alt-F9 command will toggle the
  77.     other video modes - 50/43/60x80.  You may save your current mode
  78.     using F10-Configure, and you may override this and the default from
  79.     the command line.

  81.     Using OS/2 filesystem APIs, ZTreeBold avoids several of XTreeGolds'
  82.     limitations.
  83.  
  84.     - Doesn't hog the CPU while waiting for keyboard activity.
  85.     - Trying to log an in-use device will be dealt with gracefully.
  86.     - The ability to copy and search open files.
  87.     - Copy and Move functions will deal with a files' EAs.
  88.     - Directory Grafting works.
  89.     - Support of long HPFS filenames.
  90.     - The ability to launch OS/2 programs.
  91.     - Flexible support of *ANY* archiving program present and future.

  93.     Being a native OS/2 application, ZTreeBold loads very quickly, as
  94.     there is no DOS session to start first.

  99.     - Unzip the contents of ztb180.zip to a directory of your choice.
  100.  
  101.     - File ARCHIVER.BB2 should be in the same directory as ZTB.EXE.  
  102.       This file should be reviewed to verify it references archive 
  103.       programs you have available.

  105.     - The .CMD file with the name matching the currently highlighted
  106.       file will be executed when you 'O'pen the file.  You may of course
  107.       build your own .CMD files for all the file-types you need to
  108.       manipulate with an external program.
  109.  
  110.     - The first time you run ZTB, select Alt-F10 (Configure) to set the
  111.       program path, program colors and default editor & viewer.
  112.  
  113.     - If you want to use the Alt-Q command to exit to the current
  114.       directory, you must run a command file named ZTBOLD.CMD to invoke
  115.       ZTB.EXE.  This file will be created in the same path as ZTB.EXE,
  116.       when you issue the Alt-Q command.

  118.     - If you create a program object on the WPS for ZTreeBold, you may
  119.       either specify a fullscreen or windowed session.  It will run well
  120.       in a window, but remember, it was always meant to be a fullscreen
  121.       program.  You do not need to specify the working directory.
