** Note: if you are upgrading from version 1.0 run "MCD /R" to rescan
your drive for each drive on your system before you begin to use
version 1.01.
MCD (Marc's Change Directory) allows an OS/2 user to change their current
working directory without having to enter the entire path to that directory.
For example: if you wish to change your current working directory to
\os2\mdos\winos2\system, instead of typing "CD \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM",
a user can type "MCD SYSTEM". Not only that, but it will automatically
find the closest match to the directory name passed to it, so; "MCD SYS"
will achieve the same result as "MCD SYSTEM".
Details:
Usage: MCD [directory] [/r]
MCD creates \MCDINFO.DAT which contains a listing of all directories
on your drive. If this file does not exist, or the current directory
you are in is not listed in that file, or the /r option is invoked,
mcd will rescan the drive and recreate the file. Once the file is
created, MCD will be able to change directories quickly, without
having to scan your entire disk.
The /r option forces MCD to rescan your drive. Use this option if you
know the directory you want to change to is new and is not in the
mcdinfo.dat file.
