  164. FILEJET is a Filemanager and Editor for WINDOWS-NT/95/DOS and
  165. OS/2. FILEJET allows a uniform Operation in all Operating
  166. Systems.
  167.  
  168. Quick access to files is realized by one key stroke or a
  169. mouseclick per operation. (Shortcut Keys).
  170.  
  171. FILEJET is a program with about 500kB disk usage per Operating
  172. System. It's perfectly usable as servicetool, even started from
  173. floppy disk.
  174.  
  175. Directorytrees are saved on harddisk and read only after user
  176. action. Quick access to the Directories is possible without
  177. reading the whole tree.
  178.  
  179. FILEJET supports long filenames under WINDOWS-NT/95 and OS/2 and
  180. networking. While copying files with long filenames from VFAT or
  181. HPFS to FAT the names are automatically converted.
  182.  
  183. Multiple file edit is possible with the integrated fileeditor.
  184. Functions to copy text from one file to another are implemented.
  185.  
  186. With the integrated Fileviewer files are displayed in ASCII or
  187. HEX mode.
  188.  
  189. Several display options makes FILEJET useful for everyone.
  190.  
  191. FILEJET is able to work with ZIP, ARJ, ZOO, LHA and LZH
  192. archives. They may be opened just like normal directories.

  198. You can define in Setup for the following functions your own
  199. programs.

  207. These programs are started with the actual file as parameter if
  208. the specific function is activated.
  209. 2.2 Start large programs
  210.  
  211. In the WINDOWS-NT/95/DOS Version the program uses Expanded- or
  212. Extendedmemory to swap program memory while before executing
  213. commands. This allows to start large programs using the whole
  214. DOS Memory.
  215.  
  216. 2.3 User Pulldown
  217.  
  218. With the definition of several user pulldowns you can pop up one
  219. of the pulldowns whenever FILEJET waiting for a key by pressing
  220. the Hotkey ALT-F7.
  221.  
  222. This is for example usable during copying a lot of files to
  223. floppy disk. If FILEJET asks you for a new disk and you haven't
  224. got a formatted one. Pressing ALT-F7 allows you to jump to the
  225. operating system, or if defined format directly a disk. After
  226. leaving the Userpulldown FILEJET continues normal operation.
  227.  
  228. Its possible to activate directly the user pulldown after
  229. program start.  (See chapter 5.3.1).
  230.  
  231. This function is not available in the commander emulation mode.

  233. 3.0 Operating concept
  234.  
  235. The following picture shows the main window of FILEJET after
  236. program start. In the file window you see all directories and
  237. all files in alphabetic order (default). It is possible to show
  238. the directory in a second window.

  317. All user input is processed via keyboard or mouse.

  321. In the filelist, the directorytree and the filewindow of the
  322. Editor, you can change Drive by pressing  CTRL- and the specific
  323. drive key.
  324.

  327. With 'L' or a single mouseclick on the CTRL-Field a overview of
  328. all drives in the system is displayed for further selection.
  329.  
  330. If the drive buttons are displayed, simply click with the mouse
  331. the button of the drive you want to change to.

  512. RETURN or a mouseclick with the right mousekey selects the
  513. actual file. The filecursor moves forward one file. If the file
  514. is already selected, pressing RETURN disables the selection.

  516. To select a directory enter ! or the right mousekey . For
  517. reasons of security directories are not selected with RETURN to
  518. avoid accidental selection.

  520. Pressing RETURN on a directory changes the path to it.

  710. This function copies files or directories. Copying one file or
  711. multiple files with confirmation causes FILEJET to display a
  712. warning if the destination file already exists.

  714. If files are copied to floppy disk and the disk space is
  715. exhausted, a new disk is demanded.

  717. If no formatted disk is present,pressing ALT-F7 displays the
  718. User Pulldown. In this Pulldown there should be at least one
  719. entry to jump to the operating system for further operations.
  720.  
  721. If you copy directories, you can copy the whole directory tree.
  722. Empty subdirectories will be created.
  723.  
  724. After activation the function the destination path should be
  725. entered in the command line. If  the directory is new, it will
  726. be created after accepting. It is possible to enter multiple
  727. directories without existence of the single subdirectories. All
  728. directories will be created.

  733.                            only \test, then \x\y\z

  757. If there is a file with HIDDEN attribute in a subdirectory and
  758. your Userlevel is BEGINNER, then this file will not be deleted.
  759. Changing the Userlevel to advanced deletes also this HIDDEN

  2437. FILEJET is also useful as Filemanager on a servicedisk when OS/2
  2438. has to be booted from a bootdisk. For this purpose you simply
  2439. have to copy a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) to the disk containing
  2440. Filejet. The names of the two libraries are MONCALLS.DLL and
  2441. MOUCALLS.DLL located in the directory  OS2\DLL of the operating
  2442. system.

  2444. 5.9 Problems and Solution

  2447. P: Extension Preferences and Userpulldown (ALT-F7) not

  2449. S: The environmentvariable FILEJET is not defined to the path
  2450.    of Filejet an the add-on files (FJ.DAT, FJ.PRE , FJ.HLP)

  2452. P: Hidden files are not displayed
  2453. S: The userlevel (setup) must be set at least to ADVANCED
  2454.    otherwise HIDDEN-Files are not displayed

  2456. P: Crash during drive change in File/Tree display mode
  2457. S: Probably a result of an error in the treefile.
  2458.    Delete all treefiles (FJ_C.TRE, FJ_D.TRE....) in the
  2459.    directory FILEJET.TRE. The directory is located under
  2460.    the installationpath, if the environmentvariable
  2461.    FILEJET is set. Otherwise TMP or C:\ is used
  2462.  
  2463. P: Subdirectories are not deleted completely.
  2464. S: Probably some files with hidden attribute are in one
  2465.    of the subdirectories. These files are deleted
  2466.    when you are working at least in Advanced mode
  2467.    see setup.
  2468. S: Another reason is that other programs or DLLs are in
  2469.    one of the subdirectories in use from OS/2. End all
  2470.    programs and start OS/2 again,perhaps from disk when
  2471.    you want to delete system dlls.
  2472. S: Another open OS/2 session or DOS session is working in the
  2473.    directory you want to delete. End this session and delete
  2474.    again.

  2476. P: Programs are not started under OS/2
  2477. S: Check if in CONFIG.SYS of OS/2 the entry
