  11. Hi.  This is the first release of MegaClip and it
  12. is still basically a beta.  I'm looking for feedback
  13. as to how useful the program is, which features need
  14. work, and what new features or options would be 
  15. useful.  Also, does the layout make sense?  How would
  16. you improve it?  And of course... I love to hear about
  17. whatever bugs, crashes, or whatever else you encounter.

  19. Basically, if anyone who is currently using another
  20. clipboard utility (ManyClip, other?) tries MegaClip
  21. and does not switch to it full time, I want to know
  22. WHY!!!

  24. MegaClip is currently freeware and will remain so until
  25. at least version 1.0.  In the future, I may create a
  26. shareware or commercial version with _additional features_
  27. if there seems to be enough interest/demand.

  29. Finally, I did not include any sort of installation
  30. utility with this release, but hey... if you found and 
  31. downloaded this thing, I imagine you can create a 
  32. program object for yourself.  I suggest placing it 
  33. (or a shadow) into your startup folder.

  42. Introduction:
  43. -------------
  44. MegaClip is a utility to manage multiple OS/2 PM 
  45. clipboards.  It is inspired in part by the IBM EWS
  46. program "ManyClip", as well as by a Windows 3.1
  47. program I used Looong ago (but have forgotten the
  48. name of now).  MegaClip's key feature over ManyClip
  49. is its ability to handle bitmaps and metafiles in
  50. addition to text.  Other benefits include the ability
  51. to view more than one clipboard at a time (multiple
  52. windows), to view details about the clip (date, time,
  53. size, etc), and to 'hold' one clip in the system 
  54. clipboard -- even while copying other clips. Clips
  55. may be stored within the main program window or placed
  56. directly on the desktop and it is possible to turn
  57. off 'Auto-Retrieve' so that only desired clips are
  58. retained.  These features are briefly explained below.

  60. *Note: MegaClip currently saves only the last 20 clips
  61. when the program is closed.  More options are on the

  66.   - Show/Hide Container

  68.       toggles visibility of information window

  70.   - Free floating clips

  72.       toggles clip location between desktop and
  73.       MegaClip window -- which may then (optionally)
  74.       be resized -smaller- until it acts like a
  75.       toolbar.

  79.       toggles automatic clipboard retrieval when a
  80.       new item is placed in system clipboard.

  103.       Removes/Destroys/Deletes the selected clip.

  109.       Selected text will automatically appear in the
  110.       find dialog.
  111.       *Note: 'Replace' is only enabled if clip is 
  112.              currently being edited.

  115.       LOCATION: _TEXT_ clip's popup menu 
  116.       allows text in the clip to be edited.  Clip
  117.       background will turn yellow to indicate editing
  118.       is in progress.  'Edit text' must be selected
  119.       again for changes to take effect.

  123.       toggles text wrapping on/off

  125.   - Keep proportional

  170. Known bugs:
  171.   - Metafiles display as black windows.
  172.       *note: clipboard operations still work,
  173.              it is just a display problem.
  174.   - Minimized clips do not restore properly at startup
  175.   - Container window sometimes does not arrange icons
  176.     properly or corrupts the scrollbar when changing
  177.     views
