HAutosave Help:
Autosave automatically saves the file after a
specified number of lines have been changed.
HRubout Command Help:
The RUBOUT command deletes the character to
the left of the cursor and moves the text
cursor left one space.
HBacktab Command Help:
The BACKTAB command moves the text cursor one
tabstop (8 columns) to the left.
HBottom Command Help:
The BOTTOM (BOT) command moves the text
cursor to the last line of the file.
HCancel Command Help:
The CANCEL command stops editing all files.
If a file has been modified, you are given
the option of saving the file.
HChange Command Help:
The CHANGE (C) command replaces specified
text with the specified replacement text.
Example: C/original text/new text/
HCommand Line Option Help:
Choose this option to display the command
line.
HCopymark Command Help:
The COPYMARK command copies marked text below
the line where the text cursor is located.
HCursorbottom Command Help:
The CURSORBOTTOM command moves the text
cursor to the bottom of the screen.
HCursormid Command Help:
The CURSORMID command moves the text cursor
to the middle of the screen.
HCursortop Command Help:
The CURSORTOP command moves the text cursor
to the top of the screen.
HCommand Line Help:
Type any editor command and press the Enter
key. Example: SAVE
Type DOS before a DOS command and press the
Enter key. Example: DOS DIR/P
HDeletebol Command Help:
The DELETEBOL command erases the characters
from the beginning of the line to the text
cursor location.
HDeletechar Command Help:
The DELETECHAR command erases the character
under the text cursor.
HDeleteeol Command Help:
The DELETEOL command erases the characters
from the text cursor location to the end of
the line.
HDelete Command Help:
The DELETE command erases the current line.
HDeletemark Command Help:
The DELETEMARK command erases marked text.
HDmenu Command Help:
The DMENU command activates the action bar.
It is attached to the F10 key.
HDOS Command Help:
The DOS command is used to execute DOS
commands from the System Editor command line.
Example: DOS FORMAT A:
HDown Command Help:
The DOWN command moves the text cursor down
the specified number of lines.
Example: DOWN 10
HE Command Help:
The E command is used to display a file for
editing. Example: E filename
NOTE: If the file does not exist,
enter a filename to create
the file.
HEnd Command Help:
The END command moves the text cursor to the
last column of the current line.
HEndline Command Help:
The ENDLINE command moves the text cursor to
the last column of the current line.
HEnter Command Help:
The ENTER command inserts a blank line below
the line where the text cursor is located.

HFile Command Help:
The FILE command saves the current file and
exits System Editor.
HTab Command Help:
The TAB command moves the text cursor one
tabstop (8 columns) to the right.
HGet Command Help:
The GET command reads the specified file into
the current file below the line where the
text cursor is located.
Example: GET filename
IHelp for Help:
F10 moves the cursor to the Action Bar.
Shift+F9 displays the command line. For help
with a specific function type the following
on the command line, for example: HELP JOIN
Then press the Enter key.
F3 exits System Editor.
HBeginline Command Help:
The BEGINLINE command moves the text cursor
to column 1 of the current line.
HInsert Command Help:
The INSERT command inserts a blank line below
the line where the text cursor is located.
HInsertbefore Command Help:
The INSERTBEFORE command inserts a blank line
before the current line.
HInserttoggle Command Help:
The INSERTTOGGLE command switches the text
cursor between insert and replace modes.
HJoin Command Help:
The JOIN command connects the entire next
line in the file to the end of the line where
the text cursor is located.
HLeft Command Help:
The LEFT command moves the text cursor left
the specified number of columns.
Example: LEFT 20
HLinebottom Command Help:
The LINEBOTTOM command puts the current line
at the bottom of the screen.
HLinemid Command Help:
The LINEMID command puts the current line in
the middle of the screen.
HLinetop Command Help:
The LINETOP command puts the current line at
the top of the screen.
HLocate Command Help:
The LOCATE (L) command finds the specified
text the first time it appears in the file.
HMarkline Command Help:
The MARKLINE command highlights the line
where the text cursor is located or is used
to highlight a block of lines.
HMovemark Command Help:
The MOVEMARK command moves the marked text to
the line below the line where the text cursor
is located.
HRename Command Help:
The RENAME (R) command allows you to change
the name of the current file.
HNextfile Command Help:
The NEXTFILE (NF) command displays the next
active file.
HPagedown/Forward Command Help:
The PAGEDOWN command scrolls down as many as
22 lines (one screen page) of the file
contents. The FORWARD command performs the
same function.
HPageup/Backward Command Help:
The PAGEUP command scrolls up as many as 22
lines (one screen page) of the file contents.
The BACKWARD command performs the same
function.
HPrevfile Command Help:
The PREVFILE (PF) command displays the
previous active file.
HKeyin Command Help:
The KEYIN command inserts or replaces the
specified string at the current text cursor
postition according to the InsertToggle
setting.
HQuit Command Help:
The QUIT (Q) command stops editing the
current file without saving the file.
HRight Command Help:
The RIGHT command moves the text cursor to
the right the specified number of columns.
Example: RIGHT 15
HSave Command Help:
The SAVE (S) command writes the current file
to disk and allows you to continue editing
the file.
HSearchwrap Option Help:
Choose this option to set Searchwrap ON or
OFF when searching for specified text.
HSet Command Help:
The SET command sets the AUTOSAVE, SEARCHWRAP
and TABS options.
HSplit Command Help:
The SPLIT command separates the line at the
text cursor location, and moves the rest of
the line to the beginning of the next line.
HTabs Option Help:
Choose this option to set Tabs ON or OFF.
HTop Command Help:
The TOP command moves the text cursor to the
first line of the file.
HUndo Command Help:
The UNDO commands restores the original text
to the current line if the text cursor has
not been moved from the line.
HUnmark Command Help:
The UNMARK command removes the highlighting
from the marked text in the current file.
HUp Command Help:
The UP command moves the text cursor up the
specified number of lines.
Example: UP 6
HSave and Exit Option Help:
Choose this option to save the current file
and exit System Editor.
HEdit a File Help:
Type the drive, path, filename, and extension
of the file you want to create or edit at the
location of the text cursor. For example:
C:\SAMPLE\MYFILE.TXT
(C:) specifies the drive, (\SAMPLE\)
specifies the path, which is the directory,
and (MYFILE.TXT) specifies the filename and
extension.
HSave and Continue Option Help:
Choose this option to the save the current
file to disk and continue editing.
HFile Option Help:
Choose this option to save the current file
to disk and exit that file.
HRename the File Option Help:
Choose this option to change the name of the
current file.
HRename File Help:
Type the new drive, path, filename, and
extension that you want to change the name of
the current file and press the Enter key.
HEdit a File Option Help:
Choose this option to display another file.
HEdit a file Help:
Type the drive, path, filename, and extension
of the file you want to display on the
screen. This can be a new file or an
existing file.
HMerge a File Option Help:
Choose this file to add the contents of
another file to the current file.
HMerge a File Help:
Type the drive, path, filename, and extension
of the file you want to add to the current
file and press the Enter key. The contents
of the specified file is added below the line
where the text cursor is located
HLocate Option Help:
Choose this option to locate specified text
(string) in the current file.
HLocate Help:
Type the string you want to locate at the
location of the text cursor exactly as it
appears in the current file and then press
the Enter key.
HChange Option Help:
Choose this option to change a specified
string within the current file.
HChange Help:
Type the exact text (string) you want to
replace at the location of the text cursor.
Press the Tab key and then type the new text
(string) and press the Enter key.
HSet Autosave Count Help:
Type a number from 1 to 9999 that corresponds
to the number of lines to be edited between
autosaves and press the Enter key.
NOTE: The number 0 is the default and turns
Autosave off.
HSet Searchwrap Help:
Set Searchwrap ON to search the entire file
for specified text (string) starting from the
text cursor location and then continues
searching from the top of the file to the
cursor location.
Set Searchwrap OFF to search from the text
cursor location to the end of the file and
stop.
NOTE: The default is OFF.
HSet Tabs Help:
Set Tabs ON to compress the spaces between
tab stops when you save your file to disk.
Set Tabs OFF to save your file to disk
without compressing the spaces between tab
stops.
NOTE: Setting tabs does not affect the tab
positions, which are permanently set
at every eight columns, nor the use
of the Tab key.
HExit this File Option Help:
Choose this option to exit the current file
without saving it to disk.
HExit System Editor Help:
Choose this option to exit System Editor. If
changes are made to the current file, the
option is given to save that file before
exiting System Editor.
HAutosave Option Help:
Choose this option to automatically save the
entire file each time changes are made to the
number of lines you specify when you choose
to set this option.
