Description:
DraftIT is a freeware editor for OS/2 (Warp and higher), created with two groups of users especially in mind. On the one hand, it's a tool for people like myself, who like to write text documents with editors and only commit them to word processors for final formatting. On the other, it includes strong support for ReXX programmers, integrating the RxD debugger (all rights reserved by IBM) and allowing trial runs of ReXX procedures straight from the editor they're written with.
DraftIT's features include auto-backup, e-mail support, an integrated card
database (for any kind of data you like), copying of selected text to the WPS, dragging text files into a text window,macro capability, easily accessed note files (to accompany any document you're working on), text markers, copy windows (press a button to split the screen, displaying a second copy of the current document underneath the first), screen font selection, indentation, flexible printing via the shareware package FlexText, search and replace etc.. :p.

In addition, two further packages are provided. These are RxD (contained in the DEBUG folder, IBM's EWS debugger for ReXX) and FlexText (a shareware program DraftIT uses for printing jobs). These packages are not part of DraftIT, though the program has interfaces to work with them. They are supplied complete, according the licensing regulations of their manufacturors. Please adhere to these regulations. You should therefore register FlexText, if you wish to continue using it.
Also, if you find the CardBase facility useful, please register the underlying database engine REXXBASE.DLL. You'll find details in the online help file for the database.
License:
DraftIT 1.0 is freeware. There is no charge for use of the program itself. However, as stated above, FlexText and the REXXBASE.DLL are shareware and should be registered with their manufacturors. You may use DraftIT on as many machines as you like, but you may not delete, change, decompile or reverse assemble any part of the package.
Installation:
Unzip the package in a new folder of its own. Then name this folder and move it to a location of your choice, before running Install.cmd. Finally, open the subdirectory FlexText and make sure the file flxts.exe has '..\print.tmp' as its parameter.
The future:
I'm planning several enhancements, like better integration of OS/2's file search tool PMSEEK, improved macro debugging etc.. But I need some more ideas! If you have any comments whatsoever on DraftIT, please send them to:
