  106.         [VSB] VBBS Support Boards
  107.         ═════════════════════════
  108.         The [VSB] is a key support group composed of experienced VBBS
  109.         sysops you may count on to answer many of your questions about
  110.         VBBS.  These boards also serve as distribution sites for many
  111.         of the essential VBBS utilities.
  112.  
  113.         The [VSB] group is continually growing and qualified sysops are
  114.         invited to join.  The purpose of the [VSB] is:
  115.  
  116.         1) provide a channel for volunteers to officially participate in
  117.         the VBBS organization;
  118.         2) provide better general VBBS support at the local sysop level;
  119.         3) provide a distribution system for the essential VBBS utilities
  120.         to VBBS sysops;
  121.         4) provide volunteers who will actively upload the main VBBS
  122.            program to other major BBSes in their area.
  123.  
  124.         Please note that the [VSB] is specifically for VBBS support.
  125.         Virtualnet support is offered at the local level by the existing
  126.         VirtualNET administration.
  127.  
  128.         The idea behind the [VSB] stems from the fact that we get a lot of
  129.         hands extended by VBBS sysops who do want to help in some way, but
  130.         see no 'official' way to participate and get more involved in VBBS
  131.         administration. We hope that this fills that need.
  132.  
  133.         Below are some requirements for joining the [VSB] organization:
  134.  
  135.         1. Be a registered VBBS sysop and have a missionary attitude
  136.            toward VBBS;
  137.         2. Be VNet capable, and in operation for at least 90 days;
  138.         3. Possess more than an average willingness to help and
  139.            have a good general understanding of VBBS and bbsing;
  140.         4. Be accessible. (24 hr BBS, DIRECTmail enabled, sysop
  141.            downloads on first call, no ratios on these files)
  142.         5. Carry and make available the most current VBBS utilities
  143.            as prescribed by the VSB Coordinator on the [VSB]
  144.            Distribution Site menu;
  145.         6. Understand and be able to explain basic set-up procedures,
  146.            basic VBBS scripting, etc., to  new sysops;
  147.         7. Carry and participate in the VNET Technical Support Subs
  148.            as prescribed by the VSB Coordinator and the secured
  149.            [VSB] sub itself.
  150.         8. Be willing to FREQ the stipulated files and make the
  151.            necessary connects in a timely manner when advised by
  152.            the VSB Coordinator.
