  58.       Welcome to VBBS Version 6.11 and thank you for taking time
  59.       to read this documentation.
  60.  
  61.       This document is a complement to the VBBS HyperText document-
  62.       ation included on the distribution diskette, but is organized
  63.       by chapter instead of by topic, and formatted for continuous
  64.       printing.
  65.  
  66.       This document, as well as the VBBS HyperText document, covers
  67.       both the QB4.5 DOS and the PDS7.1 OS/2 versions of VBBS since
  68.       features and setup are virtually identical. Where differences
  69.       do exist between versions, these are clearly pointed out.

  93.       This is a DEMO version of the Virtual Bulletin Board System,
  94.       copyright (c) 1993 Roland De Graaf and distributed by Virtual
  95.       Technologies.  VBBS is not Public Domain software, Freeware,
  96.       nor Shareware.  You may use an unregistered VBBS for evaluation
  97.       purposes only for no more than sixty (60) days.  After this period
  98.       you must register VBBS or discontinue usage. On registering,
  99.       you enter into a License Agreement with Virtual Technologies
  100.       for continued usage of the program. Before ordering, please read
  101.       the License Agreement.

  112.                         LICENSE AGREEMENT

  114.       TERM
  115.       This license is effective until terminated.  You may terminate
  116.       it at any time by destroying all copies of the Software covered
  117.       by this Agreement.  It will also terminate upon conditions set
  118.       forth elsewhere in this Agreement or if you fail to comply with
  119.       any term or condition of this Agreement.  You agree upon such
  120.       termination to destroy this Software, including all copies,
  121.       functionally-equivalent derivatives, and all portions and mod-
  122.       ifications thereof in any form.

  124.       LIMITED WARRANTY
  125.       This Software is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind,
  126.       either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, the
  127.       implied warranties of merchantability, and fitness for a
  128.       particular purpose. The entire risk as to the quality and
  129.       performance of this Software is with you, should the Software prove
  130.       defective, you (not Virtual Technologies) assume the entire cost of
  131.       all necessary servicing, repair, or correction.  Virtual Technologies
  132.       does not warrant that the functions contained in the Software will
  133.       meet your requirements or that the operation of the Software will be
  134.       uninterrupted or error free.  However, Virtual Technologies does
  135.       warrant the diskette on which the Software is furnished to be free
  136.       from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a
  137.       period of ninety (90) days from the date of purchase.  Virtual
  138.       Technologies entire liability and your exclusive remedy shall the
  139.       replacement of any diskette not meeting Virtual Technlogies "Limited
  140.       Warranty" and which is returned to Virtual Technologies.  In no event
  141.       will Virtual Technologies be liable to you for any damages, including
  142.       any lost profits, lost savings or other incidental or consequential
  143.       damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Software
  144.       even if Virtual Technologies or its authorized representative has
  145.       been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim
  146.       by any other party. Some states do not allow the limitation or
  147.       exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so
  148.       the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.  This
  149.       warranty gives you specific rights and you may also have other rights
  150.       which vary from state to state or within foreign countries.

  152.       GENERAL
  153.       You may not sublicense, assign, or otherwise transfer this License
  154.       or Software except as expressly provided in this Agreement.  Any
  155.       attempt to otherwise sublicense, assign, or transfer any of the
  156.       rights, duties or obligations hereunder is expressly prohibited
  157.       and will terminate this Agreement.  All Agreements covering this
  158.       Software (including but not limited to any and all updates,
  159.       upgrades, and enhancements to this Software or any portion thereof,
  160.       bearing the same registration number) shall be deemed to be
  161.       counterparts of one and the same License Agreement instrument.
  162.       By installing or using this software, you acknowledge that you have
  163.       read this agreement, understand it, and agree to be bound by its
  164.       terms and conditions.  You further agree that it is the complete
  165.       exclusive statement of this Agreement between us, which supercedes
  166.       any proposal or prior agreement, oral or written, and any other
  167.       communications betrween us relating to the subject matter of this
  168.       Agreement.
