Adept 1.07f Release Changes: 4/21/96
----------------------------
Changes to the email section. The internet email section was crippled by
a faulty interface to the BBS program. This interface still exists
unfortunately, but we are trying to make it work as best as it can.
In email, whatever you input for the destination should now be untouched
by the program. It should no longer try to capitalize where is shouldn't.
Keep in mind, the maximum length of the TO field is 59 characters.
Adept will now try to send any unsent emails when it is started. All emails
being sent out will be in "Internet\SMPTOut" which is different than
previous versions of the program.
Some replies to SMTP or NNTP were not being sent out. This was worked on.
Meta {PB was acting wierd under certain circumstances. Made a change to it.
Adept 1.07e Release Changes: 4/14/96
----------------------------
Changed the active/inactive line menu items.
If a line is active, you have the menu options:
Make Line Inactive->Busy
Make Line Inactive->No Answer
If a line is already inactive, you will have the menu option:
Make Line Active
There was a possible error in the code which prevented the BBS configuration
from being saved as often as it should have been. This may have caused
the problem where User ID numbers we're being duplicated.
Got rid of the annoying "Lastreads not found for user" message. This was
merely informational, and in general was making a mess out of everyones
logs.
REXX: Changes to AdeptMessage()
Types:
3 Find message area (number of area to find in StartAt)
Returns message area number. This sets the users current
active message area, and also sets the message area the user
is 'looking' at.
14 Sets the message area, in the message area list, that user is
currently 'looking at' (the user is not necessarily in the area)
The number of the area to find in StartAt. Not this just sets
the area the user is 'looking at' not the users active area.
Adept 1.07d Release Changes: 4/07/96
----------------------------
Language.Text line #258 changed. This is a cosmetic only change.
Adept now will complain a little more if the address you enter for a
netmail is in a weird format. There a couple of valid formats, either
of which can be truncated (you don't need to enter all 5 dimensions)
Full 5D Formats: Zone:Net/Node.Point@Domain Domain#Zone:Net/Node.Point
Arrow keys were being accepted as valid in the menu system. This was removed.
Menu item data was not stripping spaces at the beginning or end of the
data, which caused a number of problems. Now, the menu item data field
is stripped of spaces front and back. Note: Menu item text is still left
alone.
Changed behavior of the 'find' function in the user editor. If you double
click on a name in the list, then the search defaults to 'exact' otherwise,
it defaults to 'part of name' unless you specifically change it.
Completed addition of a flag which was contained in the BBS configuration,
but not in the BBS flag editor. This flag is the "Local login defaults to
SysOp" flag. If this is set, then if you click on "local logon" the name
used is the name of the SysOp in the BBS configuration by default, and
skips showing the login screen, asking the user name, and password.
Added a function to GCU.DLL, so your old copy must be replaced.
Updated UCMENUS.DLL to the latest version from IBM so that we would not
encounter problems with other programs which also uses UCMENUS.DLL. Thanks
for the info Doug K.
Adept 1.07c Release Changes: 3/31/96
----------------------------
Fixed the bug which caused blank lines in messages to become duplicates of
the immediately preceeding line if you had the 'macros in text' switch on.
Fixed problem where groups max bank time was not set in user record when
Sysop changed the users group.
Changed behavior of QWK or Bluewave uploads so that origin lines are not
put into messages contained in message areas where origin lines are turned
off. This matches the way Adept works for messages entered locally.
Put a cancel button on the BBS flags setup screen.
If you turn off the BBS flag 'follow BBS with enter' you will no longer
be asked to press enter after a local login.
Adept 1.07b Release Changes: 3/22/96
----------------------------
Added a 'R'enumber command to uNuke. This command will renumber all the
'user id' fields in the user records. uNuke, only renumbers the user
id fields. It does not (at this time) set the 'last user id' field in the
BBS configuration. This is the place that the BBS stores the last user id
number.
Changed internet dialing again. Did not touch the code if you are operating
VModem only, but rather if you are using Sockets, or Telnet, then the
dialing was changed.
Adept 1.07a Release Changes: 3/15/96
----------------------------
Language.Text has three new lines: #586, #587, #853 (see below)
A couple of bug reports tell us that when the "Languages" file exists
Adept will not start. This is extremely difficult to recreate here, though
it has been seen. What happens is, if Adept starts up a node, and that node
has difficulty opening the languages file, that node will not start. For
some reason, having a "Languages" file makes this more likely to occur.
We're not sure why. Anyway, There was an odd call to open the index after
a reindex took place. This call was changed in the hopes that this was the
problem. If that wasn't it, we'll try again for next week. :)
Made it easier to eliminate a command from an event. The editor will now
allow for a zer0 length string in the command entry field.
Removed literal conversion from message text. Text such as '\r' or 'C:\Adept'
will now display properly as contained in message.
QWK mail should not trap if there is no messages for download.
QWK mail should not trap if it can't figure out the message date. This would
occur if the message date did not match the exact format that QWK mail
was looking for. Now, if the QWK export code cannot figure out the date,
it will set the message date to 1/1/90
Clarified messages for setting or resetting LMR pointers. See text #586
and #587.
You could not address a message to 'All' in a private email area. You are now
warned when you attempt to do so. Text #853
An attempt was made to fix file ratios. During testing they worked fine.
See what you think.
Added a timing change to ZModem when used over the internet.
The 'internet dialing' portion of the mailer was completely broken from the
beginning. Several changes were made to the dialer in an attempt to fix
the code. Consider the following. You have 3 switches to turn on internet
support: Internet Timing, Socket, and Telnet.
If you have "internet timing" turned on, but have "socket" and "telnet"
turned off, most likely you are using VModem. The dialer was actually not
even attempting to use VModem to dial out, even if "socket" and "telnet"
were turned off! When "internet timing" was turned on, Adept would open a
socket or telnet client to "dial out" on. The result? Adept didn't know what
to do after a dial out attempt, and got very lost. Adept will now use
VModem to dial out if you have "internet timing" on, and "socket" and
"telnet" turned off. Adept will only open a socket or telnet client if
those options were turned on for that node. (please note: This area is
still not 100% and will be slightly tweaked in 1.07b due out 3/22/96)
Pressing arrow keys in the message reader did odd things locally. What happens
now is this.
Left Arrow: Previous Message (same as 'P')
Right Arrow: Next Message (same as 'N')
Home: Start reading message from beginning (same as 'O')
PgDn: Next page of message (same as ENTER)
