  1. Supplemental Support Disk for installing from a PCMCIA source
  2. -------------------------------------------------------------

  4. WARNING!  This is no longer a replacement for the color.gz installation disk.
  5. You will also need the color.gz rootdisk to install from a PCMCIA source.
  6.  
  7. 1.  Boot the bareapm.i bootdisk.  This is a generic IDE kernel with APM
  8.     (advanced power management) support, and is the correct bootdisk to
  9.     use when installing Slackware Linux on a laptop.
  10.  
  11. 2.  When prompted, load the color.gz rootdisk.  This is the main installation
  12.     floppy.
  13.  
  14. 3.  After you're logged into the system with the username "root", you start
  15.     the PCMCIA support system with the command "pcmcia".  Then you'll be
  16.     prompted to take these actions:

  18.     o   Insert the pcmcia.dsk support floppy
  19.     o   Attach your PCMCIA/Cardbus devices if they are not already attached.
  20.     o   Remove the pcmcia.dsk support floppy
  21.  
  22. 4.  Now you're ready to proceed with the installation as usual.  If you
  23.     need to partition your drive with "fdisk" or "cfdisk", do that first,
  24.     otherwise go ahead and run "setup".
