  14. 1  WELCOME !
  15. You are probably wondering "What the heck is BillSaver?" Well, this
  16. program does exactly what its title suggests: it SAVES you from those
  17. huge TELEPHONE BILLS you get every month after spending hours and
  18. hours surfing the Net, downloading programs and games and chatting to
  19. friends on IRC.

  21. Let's face it, Internet can be a very addictive thing and if suddenly
  22. you start to lose control of your online time, things can go Very wrong
  23. at the end of the month ;-}

  25. That's where BillSaver comes in. At the beginning of each month you will
  26. specify a limit on how much you can afford to spend on a telephone bill,
  27. and BillSaver will try to balance your on-line time so that it will be
  28. below the limit you have set. This means there will be no more "Hey, I
  29. didn't spend THAT much" moments when you receive your telephone bill.

  31. To go even further, with a single mouse click you can access a
  32. complete log of all calls you have made during the current month, as
  33. well as a report containing the total amount of time you have spent
  34. on-line, how much you will have to pay for it and the ESTIMATED size of
  35. the phone bill you are likely to receive at the end of the month if you
  36. keep spending more or less the same amount of time on-line every day.
  37. You will be given textual warnings every time you stay on-line for a
  38. longer time than you can afford.

  43. 2  BILLSAVER IS SHAREWARE
  44. This program is distributed as Shareware. This means that you may
  45. freely distribute it anywhere you want! You may copy this program to 
  46. your friend, upload to software archives on Internet, to bulletin 
  47. boards, or whatever. . .

  49. You may NOT, however, charge any money for this program. Thus you may
  50. NOT include this file on shareware CD-ROMs, magazine cover discs, etc.
  51. without asking my permission first.

  53. You have 30 days to evaluate and test BillSaver to see whether it suits
  54. your needs. By the end of that period you will either have to register
  55. this program for a small fee, if you like it, or remove it from your 
  56. system. It's something like test-driving a car before you buy it: At the
  57. end you will either have to pay for it or return it.

  62. 3  PROGRAM INSTALLATION
  63. NOTE: No installation routine is provided with this version of BillSaver,
  64. to keep the size of the distribution file down. Anyway, installation is
  65. so straightforward that you don't even need it. Just unzip the contents
  66. of the ZIP file into a fresh folder and start the program. You will be
  67. presented with a first-use configuration screen and a help file containing
  68. detailed information about program's features and interface. It is Highly
  69. recommended that you read at least some part of the help file before you
  70. start using BillSaver.

  91. fortune if you register it. The full version of BillSaver will only cost
  92. you $15 (fifteen US dollars) or ú10 (10 British pounds), whatever you
