Please read this before you install the MarketWise Pro LE software:
Installation Procedure:
Put MKWISE2.ZIP in a directory by itself
De-compress MKWISE2.ZIP by double-clicking on it
Double-click the SETUP.EXE file and the installation will begin
Follow the on-screen prompts
Answer YES or NO whenever the installation program prompt asks if you want
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file updated. If you answer YES, MarketWise will add a
path statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file that instructs DOS where to look
for MarketWise. It is NOT NECESSARY to answer YES!
MARKETWISE WILL OPERATE JUST FINE WITHOUT THIS PATH STATEMENT!
Your computer MUST have the DOS program SHARE.EXE loaded and you need to
set your FILES=50 and BUFFERS=16 as a minimum in Windows CONFIG.SYS file
in order to run MarketWise. If you aren't sure whether or not SHARE.EXE is
loaded and active on your computer or what the settings for your FILES= and
BUFFERS= are, then it is advisable that you check the "YES" button when the
installation program prompt asks you if you want your CONFIG.SYS file
updated. By answering "YES" the installation program will update your
CONFIG.SYS for you and add the proper lines that will cause SHARE.EXE to be
loaded automatically into your CONFIG.SYS file for you whenever you start
your computer each day and set FILES= minimum and BUFFERS= minimum. If
SHARE.EXE is already listed in your CONFIG.SYS file and the FILES= and
BUFFERS= minimums are already sufficiently set, then no update will occur
to your CONFIG.SYS file, even though you answered YES.
IT IS ADVISABLE THAT YOU ANSWER YES TO THIS PROMPT!
If you do answer YES, you will need to reboot your computer to activate the
SHARE.EXE file. This procedure will never be necessary again.
To begin entering data into the MarketWise Pro LE forms, start by hitting
the "E" key on the keyboard and using the ENTER key or the TAB key to
proceed through the form. You'll find that some fields automatically move
to the next field without hitting the ENTER key or the TAB key.
