  1. CompHaven's Statement about Shareware.
  2.  
  3. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software.
  4. Shareware is software distributed to the public to be used
  5. on a trial basis. You can copy and distribute shareware to
  6. other people provided you do not charge a fee.  Authorized
  7. vendors may distribute the software subject to certain con
  8. ditions.  The Vendor distribution conditions are detailed 
  9. in the Vendor.txt file distributed with this program.
  10.  
  11. Shareware is copyrighted software.  Users are allowed to in
  12. stall and use shareware for a certain time period. At the 
  13. end of the time period, the users are required to either 
  14. register the shareware or discontinue using it. Shareware 
  15. is not free software.  Shareware must be registered and paid 
  16. for if you continue to use it.

  18. This software, DEXS Shareware Edition, is fully functional 
  19. litigation support shareware.  DEXS Shareware Edition is 
  20. copyrighted by Comphaven Information System, Inc. 1994 - 1996. We 
  21. have produced DEXS Shareware edition to permit you to install
  22. and use it before you buy it or discontinue using it. You can 
  23. install DEXS Shareware Edition software and use it for 30 days.
  24. You are required to register (pay for) your copy of DEXS Share
  25. ware Edition or delete it from your computer after the 30 day 
  26. trial period.

  28. When you register DEXS Shareware Edition, you will need to chose 
  29. to receive either DEXS WorkStation Software or the DEXS Project 
  30. Manager Kit.  Neither DEXS WorkStation Software nor DEXS Project
  31. Manager Kit are shareware; you can not copy and/or distribute 
  32. these CompHaven products.  One registration fee will license one 
  33. copy for use on any one computer at any one time.  Network and 
  34. site licenses are available from CompHaven.

  36. We encourage you to pass a copy of DEXS Shareware Edition along to 
  37. your friends and associates for evaluation.  Please encourage them 
  38. to register DEXS if they use it beyond the 30 day trial period.

  40. Vendors can sell copies of DEXS Shareware Edition and/or include it 
  41. in on any CD-ROM or in other package provided the vendor sends notif
  42. ication to CompHaven Information Systems, Inc. at 
  43. P.O. Box 50285, Bellevue, WA  98005-0285 
  44. of such distribution.

  46. DEXS Shareware Edition can not be sold on retail racks without the written 
  47. permission of Comphaven Information Systems, Inc.

  49. The computer files which make up DEXS Shareware Edition cannot be 
  50. modified or changed in any way  and must be distributed together as a 
  51. set as defined in the Vendor.Doc distributed with this shareware. 
  52. Individual files from the set cannot be be sold seperately. Do not 
  53. alter DEXS or distribute any part of DEXS with an unrelated program.

  55. Individual sets of DEXS Shareware Edition distribution disks cannot 
  56. be sold for more than $20 per set without the written permission of 
  57. CompHaven Information Systems, Inc.

  59. The DEXS Shareware Edition must be represented as shareware, and a 
  60. description of the shareware concept be clearly displayed in conjunction 
  61. with any promotional materials.  The explanation of the shareware 
  62. concept must make it clear that with shareware an additional registration 
  63. fee is required if users continue to use the software.

  65. Any person, company, or group distributing and/or selling copies of 
  66. DEXS Shareware Edition must stop doing so upon reciept of written notice 
  67. from CompHaven Information Systems, Inc.  Any person, company, or group 
  68. distributing and/or selling copies of DEXS Shareware Edition must stop 
  69. doing so upon reciept of written notice from CompHaven Information 
  70. Systems, Inc.

  72. The conditions for distributing DEXS Shareware Edition are subject to 
  73. change with the release of new versions of the software.

  75. To register DEXS, return to the WIndows Program  Manager, and Click on 
  76. the Register  DEXS Icon, like the  one to the left. Next, Click on 
  77. the Register DEXS button.
