  73.  The APT Mailing Assistant for Windows is a shareware program that
  74.  provides you the capability of printing professional looking envelopes
  75.  and labels on your PC printer that include U.S. Postal Service approved
  76.  delivery point POSTNET bar codes to insure speedy and accurate delivery.
  77.  You can use the program to print envelopes or labels one at a time as
  78.  you need them or to print many envelopes or labels in succession when
  79.  performing a bulk mailing for your business or organization. The
  80.  program's bulk mailing facility sorts the mailing as specified by
  81.  U.S.P.S. Classification Reform of 7/1/96. It also provides the
  82.  capability to print your permit box on envelopes, thus saving you the
  83.  cost of pre-printing these envelopes. Delivery point bar codes can save
  84.  postage for bulk mailing and presorted first class. Zip code statistics
  85.  can be obtained to make bundling of envelopes fast and easy. You can
  86.  also print personalized return envelopes to include in your mailing. The
  87.  program predefines types of labels for as well as providing the ability
  88.  to define your own custom labels.

  90.  The files in this package may be freely copied and distributed as
  91.  long as all files (including this README.DOC file) are distributed
  92.  together. Note, however, that this program is "Shareware" NOT
  93.  "Freeware" and has been copyrighted. If you find this program useful

  95.  REGISTER.DOC form and sending it to APT Computer Solutions, Inc. at

  100. Known Incompatibilities
  101. -----------------------
  102. If using an IBM/Lexmark 4029 Laser printer, the PPDS Windows 3.1 driver
  103. Version 4.3 has an error that can cause a GPF during printer setup. If
  104. you are using this driver and have an error, you can choose "Ignore" and
  105. processing will continue. Later driver releases from Lexmark fix this
  106. error.

  109. Updates to the Documentation
  110. ----------------------------
  111. The following is information that was included too late to make the
  112. printed documentation.
  113.  
  114. 1. When starting APT Mailing Assistant for the first time, the printer
  115. and paper information in the Selections screen may indicate the default
  116. printer and paper for the your system. Occasionally, default paper may
  117. not be suitable for APT Mailing Assistant, especially if the default
  118. paper is a special form (i.e. "Business Checks", etc.). Please ensure you
  119. change the paper selection in the "Printer Setup" menu to a paper APT
  120. Mailing Assistant can use (i.e. an envelope or "Letter") prior to using
  121. it for the first time. When you start the program in the future, the
  122. proper paper will appear.
