This PBI allows you to calibrate your joystick for best performance with the Shuttle Landing Simulator flight control system. You are led through the process by on-screen prompts. After setting calibration data, you are presented with two depictions of real-time stick behavior. The first plots sensed joystick position against an X-Y grid, and the second plots a time history or "strip chart" of joystick outputs. These plots are for information only, and allow you to observe your stick's electronic "noisiness" and hysteresis.
If you are going to use a joystick to fly the simulator (you can use the keyboard if you have no joystick), you should perform a calibration first.
