  9. Begin at V 2.3 because in V 2.2 the guide was fixed for ATO
  10. translations. From this point, the history is this single file.
  11. All older informations are inside the VersCheck Guides.

  13. Not every listed version was also released! But I uploaded them
  14. to my homepage or give them away for testing. The new version
  15. is only to define the exactly stand of programming to every
  16. time.
  17. It happens also that a new release come out and the program has
  18. the same version. In this cases any other part of the archive
  19. is changed. Most the MUIclassGuide or the HandlerGuide.

  26. V 2.19 / 15.12.1999 - The search for version numbers work's now nearly
  27.                       perfect. Rewritten!
  28.                     - Based of an idea by Michael Malyshev

  30.                       included.
  31.                     - New catalog files.
  32.                     - New ENV: variables and new defaul settings.

  50. V 2.17 / 06.12.1999 - Version compare 100 percent rewritten to handle
  51.                       the versions in a new (hopefull better) way.
  52.                       Now I've done, what I never want. A 'hope so'
  53.                       analysis. The problem: The compare can't work
  54.                       right, if both version fields in a class exists,
  55.                       but only one is correct updated. OK, there are
  56.                       a lot of way's to fix but no good one. And, NOW
  57.                       I know, why DVC has a requester "please inform
  58.                       the author!". AND THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN DO!
  59.                       VersCheck has no requester, but VersCheck has
  60.                       a messy (disabled in the past, reactivated).
  61.                       Bevor this message comes, the version compare
  62.                       analyse and work also with bad versions, if the
  63.                       program MEANS to know the right version.
  64.                       If the versions are bad, you see a '*' before
  65.                       '-> version is', if analysed or not. Check this
  66.                       entry's, the result of check could be wrong!
  67.                     - better find versionnumber in a string with more
  68.                       than one numerical part. In the past, the
  69.                       search for the versionnumber start at left and
  70.                       end's after the first number or group of
  71.                       numbers. REMEMBER the RKRM say's:
  72.                       'name_of_class ver.rev (dd.tt.jjjj) comments'
  73.                       This was a problem in the past:
  74.                       "Personal 68060 Blit Library 2.1 (30.01.97)"
  75.                       the version found = 68060
  76.                       The new function search for the first ( and
  77.                       then looks for a version in front of it. If
  78.                       not found, the old functions is used. In my
  79.                       tests the results are very good.

  81. V 2.16 / 03.12.1999 - A problem in the classes list appears, if the
  82.                       version is ok, the second version old and the
  83.                       ClassList has an entry like :name 1.1 (10/10/99)
  84.                       To fix that problem, I cut such strings after
  85.                       the version where nothing should be.

  93.                       classes test the '.mcp' are not compared.

  98. V 2.14a/ 24.11.1999 - Translations for suomi arrived and all new files

  101. V 2.14 / 23.11.1999 - AFD-COPYRIGHT included
  102.                     - Install-script:
  103.                       - translation of two added languages for france
  104.                         installation.
  105.                       - add AFD-COPYRIGHT in fileslist
  106.                     - Using Check_Your_System, selection "filerequester"
  107.                       do not work (illegal option). The reason, a bug in
  108.                       the getargs-parser. Changing -0l CLASS as last
  109.                       argument or put any char after l help. Like this,
  110.                       for example: -0ll CLASS.
  111.                       The problem in getargs is cleared. Also a lot of
  112.                       semilar problems without effect in the moment.
  113.                       The biggest problem is, that the functions was
  114.                       correct (now dobble checked).
  115.                     - Because trouble with the call of requester from
  116.                       reqtools.library the ppc-program versions has
  117.                       requestor=OFF as default. So I changed this now
  118.                       to asl.library (seems working). Only the HTML-
  119.                       ASK-request is not changed (coming soon).
  120.                     - The MUIClasses.Guide and the compare for the
  121.                       MUI classes know's now a faked version and the
  122.                       patched classes show'n a warning.

  125. V 2.13 / 20.11.1999 - This history is now hopefull better in layout
  126.                       und usage.
  127.                     - OS3.5 dosn't opened the catalog files. One
  128.                       problem was found in the locale initialisation,
  129.                       the other in the catalog source. Both corrected.
  130.                     - Add france language in the installerscript and
  131.                       also france guide and catalog to the archive.
  132.                     - mmu.library is now an official release. Look in
  133.                       the AmiNet, if you want or need more
  134.                       information.
  135.                     - A lot of bugs and problems in the install script
  136.                       corrected (nearly new written).
  137.                       All needed functions for automatic update in the
  138.                       future now included and tested.
  139.                     - New OS3.5 compatible icons.
  140.                     - Version of WB was wrong before (show's the kick
  141.                       version). First seen after install OS 3.5 here.
  142.                     - WARNING! Installation with InstallerNG v1.4
  143.                       crashed (guru). Will be cleared soon.
  144.                       The problem is, VersCheck writes the settings
  145.                       of the installations to disk and use them at
  146.                       later updates (you must nothing change!). But
  147.                       this causes an internal typeconfikt in the
  148.                       InstallerNG. Test with the original OS3.5
  149.                       and also the OS3.1/OS3.0 Installer.works fine.
  150.                     - Added new file xxxInfo to each list. The first
  151.                       reason ist, to make possible to identify the
  152.                       list and the version of the list. The second
  153.                       reason is, to show this info to the user.
  154.                       Important is: First line must be a AmigaOS
  155.                       like $VER line. The others are free.
  156.                     - New argument -! to show the xxxInfo as a
  157.                       requester.
  158.                     - New tooltypes:
  159.                       DISPLAYINFO show the xxxInfo file as requester.

  163. V 2.12 / 17.11.1999 - Never offizial released, only for an ATO

  166.                       script. Since OS 3.5 the start by IconX crashes.

  168.                       the script.

  177. V 2.11 / 02.11.1999 - A mistake in the english locale and the internal
  178.                       english text corrected.
  179.                     - A lot of problems in the english and the german
  180.                       guides corrected.
  181.                     - Add new feature xxxDirs for multiple directory
  182.                       scan. This feature will be used if a xxxDirs file
  183.                       exists and the feature -0l or -1 upto -5 use
  184.                       a '*' in the argument, e.g. -1* or -0l* and so
  185.                       on. So the program can scan more as one directory
  186.                       at one programstart.
  187.                     - Add requestorsON/OFF for multi dir scan. Now the
  188.                       check for files can using a list of possible
  189.                       directory's. If the exists, they are scanned. If
  190.                       not, the entry is skipped, without error messages
  191.                       or "please insert volume ..." requester.
  192.                     - Various bugfixes.
  193.                     - New function make an internal selftest at start.
  194.                       If CPU and/or FPU at the system not match with
  195.                       the compiled code, VersCheck print out an error
  196.                       and stop immediatly before the CPU causes a trap
