  9. who have to battle every day against
  10. prejudices and the ignorance of pc-
  11. users, I thought it could push up the
  12. morality and the mood among us if I
  13. tell you some specials about our
  14. beloved girl friend. Here they come...

  21. I am not only a big fan of the AMIGA.
  22. I really love watching movies eighter
  23. on tv or in cinema too. In my country
  24. one would call me a »CL1:`Kineasten`». I
  25. have watched so many movies that I am
  26. not able to remember every detail in
  27. a movie although I have seen most of
  28. them not only one time. Some of them
  29. I liked so much that I have watched
  30. them several times to remind me on
  31. things I enjoyed or to find some new
  32. stuff in I haven`t relized yet. But
  33. some things, details, will surely
  34. stay, maybe forever, in my mind. One
  35. of them is the fact, to see the
  36. computer about the whole world is
  37. telling that it is dead in a movie.
  38. The one I love and use every day
  39. more and more. And it was no low
  40. budget production that the producers
  41. have not enough money for better
  42. computers! It was a very big
  43. surprise for me. It thought I would
  44. dream, because normally is there a
  45. designer at the set for the movie,
  46. who is responsible for the graphic
  47. user interface a character is using.
  48. And if it is a low cost production
  49. they normally use a standard tin
  50. with »CL1:"micro windows`90"» or so. But I
  51. was sure I`d seen an »CL1:AMIGA». So I
  52. went to a video shop next day and
  53. lent me the one I have seen the
  54. evening before to look if I was right.
  55. And I was!!!

  57. It was a nice and warm afternoon in
  58. summer of... I guess it was 1992. My
  59. life with the AMIGA was young and
  60. the big crash of commodore was not
  61. in sight of course. These days the
  62. PC-users where a small group of
  63. outsiders and it was an unforgetable
  64. experience for them to see what an
  65. AMIGA can bring. For example the
  66. `World of Commodore` demo `Amiga
  67. rules` by Sanity I got fresh a week
  68. before. I showed some friends of mine
  69. who told about themselves that they
  70. had the newest and fastest hardware
  71. available. We played `Sensible Soccer`
  72. or any similar soccer game. A standart
  73. one without exploiding graphics or so
  74. and I decided I should show my friends
  75. this new demo that still was my
  76. favorite until last year. After the
  77. show they can`t talk for a few
  78. minutes. They were so surprised and
  79. asked me:

  81.  `One disk only? Can`t be true! On my
  82.   computer it would need about three
  83.   or maybe four disks! And you don`t
  84.   need to install it on a hd with 200
  85.   MB free space at least?`

  101. I remember that day exactly. It was
  102. one of these triumph days I have never
  103. seen again with this intensity.
  104. Nowadays it is harder to surprise a
  105. PC-guy. But back to the topic...

  107. On the same day I watched `Betrayed`
  108. on a advertisement free channel. The
  109. movie is not the best I have seen, but
  110. a nice thriller featuring a pretty
  111. Debra Winger and a diabolic Tom
  112. Berenger. The story is so far about a
  113. FBI agent (Winger) who will be
  114. infiltrated in a racial organisation
  115. that hunts black people for fun. Also
  116. they robbed banks to get money and it
  117. was no problem for them to kill
  118. officers. In any case was there a
  119. radio presenter who talked against
  120. organisations of such a kind. He has
  121. been killed and now it was the turn of
  122. the FBI to find his murderer, to prove
  123. this and to arrest the responsible
  124. person(s).

  126. After our agent is in contact with a
  127. farmer named Gary Simmons (Berenger),
  128. an important person in this
  129. nazi-company she felt in love with him
  130. (a very dramatic element)... I won`t
  131. tell you the ending of the movie.
  132. Maybe you will watch it by yourself

  141. In a situation (before it comes to a
  142. sexual act between the Agent and Gary)
  143. you should better look carefully at
  144. the screen, because you will see there
  145. an AMIGA 500 while Gary and Cathy are
  146. talking. But it becomes better. Gary
  147. showed Cathy how to use this great
  148. computer. He showed her that this
  149. computer is able to speak while he
  150. runs the old `SAY` programm from the
  151. DOS1.3 Workbench.

  161. It was a great feeling for me to see
  162. this. The same day I called my friend
  163. Ed to tell him this stuff. He was
  164. surprised too. We both were happy
  165. because we were, and still we are, big
  166. AMIGA fans and it was not normal as I
  167. told you in the first paragraph and
  168. because of the growing PC-scene not
  169. too. We talked the whole night just
  170. about computers and the reason that
  171. could made the director Constantin
  172. Costa-Garvas to inlude even an AMIGA??
  173. Perhaps he was a well-known scener,
  174. who walks among us with unknown real
  175. life idendity!? Or just a big fan as
  176. we are?! But as it always is, we never
  177. found it out...

  181. At last I can only suggest you to
  182. watch the movie and enjoy the use of
  183. our girl friend in a big hollywood
  184. production. It`s no surprise for you
  185. anymore but although interesting and
  186. at least a good movie.

  202. information about the movie if you are
  203. not that freak who already knows a
  204. movie by hearing its original title.
