  1.                 Move all of these files to your DOOM directory.

  9. APCiDOOM supports the following DOOM gaming modes:
  10.  
  11.     1 - MultiPlayer Modem DOOM via the APCi MultiPlayer Game Server.
  12.         Yes, up to FOUR PLAYERS can now play together anytime, from
  13.         anywhere, with their high-speed modem.  A special chat utility
  14.         enables players to chat and to change WAD files and settings
  15.         before and between games.
  16.     2 - Two-player modem DOOM including chat support.
  17.     3 - Two-player serial link DOOM including chat support.
  18.     4 - MultiPlayer IPX DOOM including chat support. 
  19.  
  20. APCiDOOM is merely client software.  It is NOT the software that provides
  21. support for multiplayer modem DOOM.  Support is provided by the APCi
  22. MultiPlayer Game Server.  
  23.  
  24. The APCiMPGS is a true 32-bit server application that allows gamers to 
  25. network and play together via any combination of modem connections, direct 
  26. serial connections, and IPX connections.  The APCiMPGS software will support 
  27. up to 256 concurrent player connections on a single computer system.

  29. The APCiMPGS currently supports id Software's DOOM, and development and 
  30. testing is in progress for support of Spectrum HoloByte's Falcon, and 
  31. Velocity Software's SpectreVR.

  33. An APCiMPGS developer's toolkit is also being developed to allow gaming
  34. developers to include support for the APCiMPGS with network-capable games.
  35. APCi is approaching developers of games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator,
  36. Papyrus IndyCar Racing, and many others to release versions with APCiMPGS
  37. support.
