  1.                       Announcing the DOOM Construction Set!

  3. The DOOM Construction Set (DCS) is a powerful DOOM map construction program.
  4. Here's a sample of some of the features of DCS 1.0:

  6.      * DOS Based, 640x480x256 SVGA Resolution - support for 20 chipsets
  7.      including VESA!  Additional support for 800x600x256 and 1024x768x256 if you
  8.      have 1MB on your video card.
  9.      * GUI interface - push buttons, toggle buttons, listboxes (many with hot-
  10.      key access)!
  11.      * Create maps from scratch!
  12.      * Edit existing levels!
  13.      * Full PWAD support - no modifications to DOOM.WAD!
  14.      * (Fast!) Wall texture preview in DOOM's 256 colors!
  15.      * (Fast!) Floor/ceiling texture preview in DOOM's 256 colors!
  16.      * (Fast!) Object (med kits, columns, pillars, etc...) preview in DOOM's 256
  17.      colors!
  18.      * Full control of things, vertices, linedefs, sidedefs, sectors!
  19.      * Modify objects individually or in groups!
  20.      * Move objects individually or in groups!
  21.      * Delete objects individually or in groups!
  22.      * Zoom in/out for detailed editing!
  23.      * Grid mode for exact alignment!
  24.      * "Horizontal-Lock" - this allows you to move objects horizontally only, no
  25.      matter where you move the mouse, only the x-axis is a factor.
  26.      * "Vertical-Lock" - this only allows you to move objects vertically only,
  27.      no matter where you move the mouse, only the y-axis is a factor.
  28.      * "Texture Check" - this option checks your wall textures to make sure all
  29.      upper/lower textures are defined when needed - and flags errors for you to
  30.      fix immediately!
  31.      * "Texture Align" - Tag your lines, press a key, <BAM!> - your textures are
  32.      horizontally aligned!  Vertical alignment coming soon!
  33.      * "Sector Check" - this option checks all sectors to make sure they are
  34.      closed - and flags errors for you to fix immediately!
