Hess's Law states that if a reaction is the sum of two or more other reactions, the enthalpy change for the overall process is the sum of the enthalpy changes of the constituent reations. Based on this statement it is possible to find the enthalpy change by adding reactions together. In this module, the user must determine the overall enthalpy for a given reaction by adding reactions together.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Select a reaction from the reaction menu.
2. Add various reactions together to form the resultant reaction and find the delta H by doing so.
