v1.10 changes:
1) The SAVE option that appears when you quit TigerCub now works.
2) A QuickScore bug which occurred when trying to load an .ALL file
with too many tracks has been fixed.
7-7-91
v1.09 changes:
1) QuickScore should work better with HP DeskJet and LaserJet printers.
2) A new menu option on the Project menu has been added allowing you
to select whether a form feed will be sent to your printer at the
end of each page. Generally you will want to send them to dot-
matrix printers, and not send them to HP Desk/LaserJet. This
parameter is saved in the startup file.
1-10-91
v1.08 changes:
1) QuickScore should now abort printing operation properly when no
printer is connected.
2) Fixed bug in PopUpMenus in QuickScore which might cause crashes on
systems with fast processors.
11-21-90
v1.07 changes:
1) During step time record, scrolling the keyboard now works.
2) Record and Show no longer screws up track length.
3) Appending files on the Track screen no longer screws up track length.
4) Bug that caused "ghost notes" to be drawn after creating a new track
has been fixed.
10-26-90
v1.06 changes:
1) Deleting a range from ALL tracks and then UNDOing, caused a problem
with text in requesters, and other erratic behavior. This is fixed.
2) Slight change in TigerCub.TXT file fixes a cosmetic problem in the
file requester.
3) Under certain conditions it was possible to open more than one track
for editing. This was unsupported and dangerous, and is no longer
possible.
10-11-90
v1.05 changes:
1) One change and several additions made to menu shortcut keys:
Amiga-C for "Copy"
Amiga-X for "Cut"
Amiga-P for "Pitches..."
Amiga-V for "Velocities..."
Amiga-E for "Erase Last Track" (was Amiga-X)
2) Fixed a problem in recent versions that caused the wrong text to be
displayed for the menu options "Graphic Editor" and "Tape Recorder".
3) Fixed a problem in 1.04 with the Select Program edit window.
4) QuickScore now displays an error message if it is run without Tiger
Cub.
5) There should be no problems running under WorkBench 2.0 and/or with
fast processors (68020/68030). Please let us know if this is not
the case.
8-9-90
v1.04 changes:
1) Behavior of the program on PAL screens and using international keymaps
has been improved.
2) A bug involving quantization to triplets has been fixed.
7-24-90
Tiger Cub version 1.03 manual addendum:
1) Tiger Cub and Quickscore now use less memory and should perform much
better on 1 Meg machines. Something to keep in mind: When memory
is tight, as will always be the case on 1 Meg machines, QuickScore
uses spare memory from Tiger Cub's track data space. It is therefore
a good idea on such systems to allocate a little more space than
you actually need when Tiger Cub starts up, maybe 2 or 3 thousand
events, in order to leave extra room for QuickScore to function.
2) Tiger Cub now defaults to allocating 10000 events or half of the
largest chunk of available memory, whichever is less, at startup.
3) Several other minor bugs have been fixed in this version.
The Select Program edit window should now work, including the name
track from program feature. If a track is SOLO'd on the graphic
editor window, its status will now be displayed correctly on the
track screen, and playing the screen in QuickScore will now ignore
a SOLO track on the Cub graphic edit screen.
5-8-90
Tiger Cub version 1.01 manual addendum:
1) The File menu now contains the option "Load SMUS File...". Use this
option to load IFF SMUS files created by other programs into Tiger
Cub. SMUS files sometimes contain information on MIDI channel
assignments or internal sound samples, as well as a tempo setting.
Tiger Cub will use this information to the best of its ability in
setting up its environment. Unfortunately, time signature and key
signature information will not be transfered to Tiger Cub.
The following changes have been made to the operation of the
Internal Sounds portion of the pogram.
2) When "Change Path(s)" is selected, instead of an edit window which
requires you to type a destination path, a modified file requester
now appears which allows easier selection of a Drawer.
3) A new option, "Copy All Instruments", has been added. This option
copies all of the actual IFF sample files currently loaded to a
destination directory of your choice. Remember, .SND files only
contain the NAMES of the sample files, not the samples themselves.
If you want to do something like copy an instrument bank to a
floppy disk, you can use this option to copy the necessary samples.
Make sure to create a new .SND file using the location of the
copies of the sample files. Use the "Change Path" option to change
the path for all of the currently loaded instruments, and then
select "Save Instrument Bank".
4) Tiger Cub now automatically loads a default internal sound setup.
If you save your favorite internal sound setup in the same directory
as the Tiger Cub program, with the name DEFAULT.SND, the program
will try to load the sounds every time it starts up.
