¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢ QUESTIONNAIRE OUTBOARD¢¢¢ for¢¢¢ AtariLink 2.0¢ and greater¢¢¢ By Pab Sungenis¢¢¢ Copr. 1991 P. Sungenis¢¢ Another Shareware offering¢¢¢¢ INTRODUCTION¢ ============¢¢ Many people asked me to write a user survey and questionnaire¢ outboard for AtariLink. For what it's worth, here it is.¢¢ The program is largely based upon the original questionnaire¢ command that was in version 1.2 of AtariLink, back in the 1030 modem¢ days. The command was taken out of later versions because of memory¢ considerations. Now, thanks to version 2.x's outboard capabilities,¢ the questionnaire has returned.¢¢ This program will give the user a list of surveys/questionnaires¢ available, and allow him/her to fill one in. Their answers will be¢ written, along with the questions, to a file in the specified path, to¢ be printed or read at the SysOp's convenience.¢¢¢ SETTING IT UP¢ =============¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢ Questionnaire Outboard/2¢¢¢¢ Copy the QUEST program to any drive/directory you wish.¢¢ The CNF file for QUEST (see the LINK20X manual) should contain two¢ pieces of information:¢¢ * The path for the QUEST program and files¢ * The number of questionnaires online¢¢¢ Next, create a file called QUEST.DAT in the QUEST path. This file¢ should contain a description for each questionnaire (up to 35¢ characters each) you have online.¢¢ Finally, you will need to create the questionnaires themselves.¢ Each questionnaire is stored in a file called QUESTx.DAT, where x is¢ the number of the questionnaire. The first line of the file should be¢ the number of questions, and subsequent lines the questions themselves.¢¢ An example of a questionnaire file is below.¢¢ 9 <- The number of questions¢ Your full name <- First question¢ Your mailing address <- Second question¢ Apartment/Box/RD Number <- And so on...¢ City, State, ZIP code¢ VOICE Phone Number¢ BBS Name (if up)¢ BBS Phone Number (if up)¢ Baud Rates Supported¢ Where did you get the program? <- Make sure the number of ques-¢ tions at the top and number of¢ questions actually in the file¢ match.¢¢ This is a questionnaire I had on my support BBS a while ago to allow¢ users to register their copies of AtariLink on-line.¢¢ When the user answers a questionnaire, the questions will be¢ displayed one-by-one, and the program will allow the user to type a¢ one-line answer. The question and the user's answer will then be¢ written to a file in the QUEST path called QUESTx.y where:¢¢ * x is the questionnaire number (the same as in QUESTx.DAT)¢ * y is the user's user number. This allows each user to have¢ one set of answers for each questionnaire. If the user takes¢ the questionnaire, their new answers will overwrite the old¢ ones.¢¢ This file can then be printed out, copied to the screen, archived, or¢ whatever you wish.¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢ Questionnaire Outboard/3¢¢¢ FINAL NOTES¢ ===========¢¢ The program is very simple, and can be easily modified to meet any¢ special needs you may have. If you have any specific questions or¢ suggestions, I can be reached either at the address given in the¢ LINK20X manual, or through GEnie mail (send messages to P.SUNGENIS1).¢ Good luck with the program.¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢
