  3. Winpatch is a patch to allow 3DPatch and any other patch that needs
  4. to FMFaster Windowmanager to work with Acorns RomPatches version
  5. 2.02.
  6.  
  7. This program will only work on RiscOS 3.7 and RomPatches 2.02
  8. (press F12 and type Help RomPatches to see which version you have).
  9.  
  10. To install:
  11.  
  12. 1) Copy WinPatch into !Boot.utils.
  13.  
  14. 2) For 3DPatch: Load the file !Boot.choices.boot.predesk.3DPatch
  15.          into an editor and add the line
  16.          
  17.          Run Boot:Utils.WinPatch { > Null: }
  18.          
  19.          after
  20.          
  21.          RMFaster WindowManager
  22.          
  23.          And save it again.
  24.          
  25.    For any other patch that needs to RMFaster Windowmanager, just
  26.    locate find where it issues the RMFaster command and add the
  27.    command above after it.

  29. 3) Reboot your machine.

  31. Notes:
  32.  
  33. 1) If you are using Doggysofts !WTBPatch, this should be removed as
  34.    it is not needed when you are using the new acorn patch.
  35.    
  36. 2) The Acorn patch is not the version that you would have got with
  37.    your StrongArm upgrade or the one that has been on several
  38.    magazine coverdisks. It is only availiable from acorns web site
  39.    and has only been there for a couple of weeks.

  41. If things go wrong:

  43. If something does go wrong with installing this patch, you may be
  44. left with a machine that will not start in desktop mode. This is
  45. nothing to worry about, all you need to do is restart the machine
  46. pressing ctrl+shift+break instead of just ctrl+break. This will
  47. start your machine without running !Boot. You can then go into
  48. !Boot and remove the modifications you made and start again.
