  1. Program : CMOS Protect 'CMOSProt'.

  3. Purpose : Locks the values of selected CMOS bytes.
  4.

  10. CMOSProtect is a desktop task (without and icon) which will
  11. protect the values of a list of CMOS bytes. When loaded it
  12. reads in a list of CMOS addresses in the !Run file, the
  13. values stored at these address are then stored. Once every
  14. second it looks at the CMOS checksum, if this has changed it
  15. writes back all of the stoted values and then makes a note
  16. of the new CMOS checksum. This allows other bytes to be
  17. changed freely.

  19. 'Where do I get these magical addresses' I hear you ask,
  20. simple look in the Programmers Reference Manual (PRM).
  21. 'I don't have a copy of that excerlent piece of reference
  22. material' - well either buy it or find someone who will
  23. lend it to you.

  34. This program is freeware, you may copy it as much as you like,
  35. but never charge more than nominal amounts (ie. for time and
  36. media). If you feel the urge to include it on a PD/Cover CD
  37. then I'd like a free copy or at least a discount on buying it.
