  10. CMOS_Check and CMOS_Fix have been written to fix a bug with
  11. Oak Classnet cards, where they loose their station numbers
  12. after a Power-on-Delete. This problem only occurs if the
  13. CMOS checksum had become corrupted, hence the stange way
  14. that it only seems to effect certain machines.

  16. CMOS_Check will inform you if the machine it is running on
  17. suffers from a checksum error.

  19. CMOS_Fix will write a correct checksum to the CMOS, there
  20. should be no harm in running this fix even if there isn't
  21. a checksum error.

  26. I have tested this program on a whole room of A3000s and
  27. it fixed all of them. They were all running with the
  28. current DCI-4 chips (in fact there wasn't a problem
  29. before upgrading to these chips).

  31. Whilst I haven't been able to try this program on anyother
  32. machines I don't anticipate any problems. You would be
  33. advised to test it on the odd machine before attacking a
  34. whole room.

  36. If your cards are equiped with the CMOS Lock module then
  37. you shouldn't suffer from the problem in the first place.

  42. This program is freeware, you may copy it as much as you like,
  43. but never charge more than nominal amounts (ie. for time and
  44. media). If you feel the urge to include it on a PD/Cover CD
  45. then I'd like a free copy or at least a discount on buying it.
