  1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  4.  * Acorn Risc machine fitted with RISC OS 2 or RISC OS 3 (NOT RiscPC or StrongARM)
  5.  * 800K floppy disc drive
  6.  * 2Mb of RAM
  7.  
  8. NOTE: The manuals are very large in size and will not copy in uncompressed form
  9. to either an 800K or 1.6Mb floppy.  
  10.  
  11. RISC OS 2 users will need to obtain a RISC OS 2 version of !Fonts from Acorn or
  12. an Acorn dealer.
  13.  
  14. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  15. =========================
  16.  
  17. This download version of Impression Junior does not include the Acorn Fonts folder,
  18. the draft print modules or the Installer supplied with the original, full version.
  19. As such, the installation instructions on pages 7-12 of the Junior Manual do not 
  20. apply.

  22. Please follow the installation instructions below for this download version of
  23. Impression Junior:

  25. HARD DISC INSTALLATION
  26. ======================
  27. (The complete installation requires 4Mb of Hard Disc drive space.  !Junior alone is
  28. 531K in size)
  29.  
  30.  - Create a Directory on your Hard Disc drive called "Impression"
  31.  - Open up this directory
  32.  - Drag the contents of this archive into the directory window, ie, !Junior, 
  33.    the "Examples" and "Manual" directories and this ReadME file if you wish.
  34.  
  35. If your computer is fitted with RISC OS 3.1 or later you can now simply 
  36. double-click on !Junior to run the application.  The Junior icon should appear 
  37. on the iconbar.  Impression Junior is now ready for use.
  38.  
  39. If your computer is fitted with RISC OS 2.00, you will need to obtain a copy 
  40. of Acorn's RISC OS 2 !Fonts folder before you can run !Junior.  !Fonts may be 
  41. obtained from Acorn or an Acorn dealer.  Please specify you need a RISC OS 2
  42. fonts folder.  The Dealer might recommend an upgrade to RISC OS 3 which we 
  43. would also endorse.  RISC OS 3 offers many advantages over RISC OS 2.

  45. FLOPPY DISC INSTALLATION
  46. ========================
  47.  
  48. The manuals are too large to be copied (in uncompressed format) to a single 800K
  49. floppy disc.  Indeed, the main manual (!JManual) is 2.2Mb (uncompressed) in size !
  50.  
  51. RISC OS 3 machines
  52. ==================
  53.  
  54.  - Format either an 800K or 1.6Mb floppy.  Name the disc Junior.
  55.  - Copy !Junior from the archive onto the disc named Junior.
  56.  
  57. Impression Junior may now be run by double-clicking on the !Junior icon.
  58.  
  59. RISC OS 2 machines
  60. ==================
  61.  
  62. The installation instructions are identical to those required for RISC OS 3 machines
  63. above.  However, you will also need a RISC OS 2 copy of !Fonts from an Acorn dealer,
  64. as mentioned in the Hard Disc installation instructions above.  There should be 
  65. sufficient room to copy both !Fonts and !Junior to the same 800K floppy disc.
