  4. MAZE Technology's first product for the Archimedes is the SideFAX-II
  5. Desktop utility Set. This set is an enchanced version of that supplied
  6. with the Sideset(D) Task-switching system, which is currently available
  7. for the Master 128 and Model-B BBC microcomputers. The utilities have,
  8. however, been re-designed to complement and/or replace those desktop
  9. utilities supplied as standard with the Archimedes and have had new
  10. facilites added to take advantage of the extra power of the Archimedes.

  12. SideFAX-II provides ;- 
  13.  
  14.    - A 9999 yr Calendar/Diary
  15.    - An Address book
  16.    - A notepad-editor
  17.    - A user-extendible context-sensitive HELP-book.
  18.    - A full-function scientific calculator with HEX operation
  19.    - Additional User Data-books
  20.  
  21. Each of these utilities is available from the RISC OS desktop and
  22. Pops-up with an easy-to-use interface, permitting the mouse and/or the
  23. keyboard to be used.

  25. The Diary, Address-book, Notepad and Help-book are in fact special forms
  26. of 'Data-books': These are free-format, general purpose,  card-index
  27. type databases;  the 'User Data-book' facility enables the user to have 
  28. any number of these databases accessible from  the RISC OS desktop.

  30. Extensive facilities such as searching, data-transfer, file-locking, and
  31. password protection are available for use on these 'Data-books'.
  32. Powerful printing facilites are also included, so that,  for example,
  33. information may be printed out in a variety of user-determined formats,
  34. such as ;

  36.    Filofax type pages,   telephone lists,  address labels, etc.

  38. SideFAX-II can also be used for such things as mailing-lists, pupil
  39. records, computerised subject guides and application specific pop-up
  40. Help files etc., without the need for programming skills.
