                         SUPPORT DISC (Issue 1)


Please note that whilst every effort has been made to ensure accuracy and
completeness, Acorn Computers Limited gives no warranty, express or implied,
as to the suitability of the material or advice given for any application.


This disc contains material from various suppliers of software for
Archimedes computer systems. Its purpose is to provide assistance with the
operation and use of existing applications under the RISC Operating System
(RISC OS).

If you have not done so already, you are strongly advised to familiarise
yourself with the RISC OS environment, in conjunction with the User Guide,
before making further use of the material on this disc.

The disc is organised as a set of directories, one for each contributing
supplier, including Acorn. Within each directory, you will find further
directories, one for each product; you may also find a file of general
information about current and future products from each supplier.

The material and information supplied in relation to each product will vary
from a simple text file describing the steps you should take to ensure that
the product can be used under RISC OS in its original form to the provision
of completely new start-up sequences and/or RISC OS application directories.
In most cases, the directory for a particular product will also contain a
file of simple instructions.

In addition, a copy of the hard disc formatting program HFORM is included
in the Acorn directory. Hard disc owners should use this latest version in
preference to any previous version of HFORM. Instructions for using HFORM
are included in the User Guide.
