RealAudio
***********
Details
-------
This file will be filled out in the course of time.
Usage
-----
Double click a RealAudio (type F88, RealAud) file to play it
Type /<RealAudio$Dir>.ra <input> <output> to decode it.
For playing sound, you require the ARMovie to have been seen.
You may wish to add :
audio/x-pn-realaudio RealAud f88 .ram .rpm .ra
to your MimeMap file, but note that .ram files tend to be pointers to .ra
files, or a means of fetching streaming .ra files. The protocol name
contained in .ram files tends to be pnm: which can 'sometimes' be replaced by
http: to fetch the data.
Bugs & misfeatures
------------------
* Not all 28k8 files decode correctly.
* The replay handler sometimes crashes if the desktop is 'busy'.
Future improvements
-------------------
You should read nothing into this :
* Streaming playback.
* More variants of 28k8 streams supported.
* Generic filtering.
Source
------
Source will be released in due course.
Acknowledgements

* The Amiga RealAudio decoder authors - I don't know your names, but we're
very greatful to you!
* Joseph Heenan, for help with packet sniffing
* Progressive Networks, for not making anything at all available to us and
making life so damned hard.
