  72.                        Rules Governing Versions

  75. This section only applies where a user wishes to alter the program in
  76. some way, and also intends to distribute the altered version. Where a
  77. user wishes only to alter the program for their own use, logging of
  78. alterations, and creation of versions are not necessary - although
  79. advised.

  82. numerals of the version number. This means that if the version number 
  83. is 'version 2.45', then the root version number is '2.4'.

  85. The root version number for this program is fixed, and may not be 
  86. altered without prior permission by the copyright owner of the root 
  87. version (given at the start of this document).

  89. Anyone wishing to make alterations to this program must create their 
  90. own version number. This is done by adding one digit after the
