  29. Download the archive file(s) and extract using SparkPlug 2
  30. (see the "tools_help" file in micros/arch/riscos/tools for further info).

  33. Description:

  35. There are two applications in the package: RiScript and ScripTerm.
  36. RiScript is a PostScript-previewer that can save the image as a draw
  37. file (no, not only a sprite but real objects). ScripTerm is a terminal
  38. that can be connected to the previewer.

  40. Globally, there are two ways of using the software, namely interactively
  41. and in batch mode. When double clicking a PostScript-file RiScript will
  42. be started (when it is not running yet, of course) in batch mode, i.e.
  43. without a terminal (ScripTerm). When starting the RiScript application
  44. (double clicking the application icon) then RiScript will be started in
  45. interactive mode (i.e. with separate terminal).

  47. Some missing features are:
  48. - packed arrays (not _very_ important; the PostScript printer driver
  49.   of Acorn does however use this feature for unavailable fonts);
  50. - Type 1 fonts (this can be a real nuisance when using special fonts);
  51. - clipping (depends on the file whether it is important or not).

  53. rs_hints.arc, contributed by Chris Poole <c.e.poole@iee.org.uk>, contains
  54. a couple of files to help people who have problems with getting RiScript
  55. to work.  There is a postscript program which fixes some of the bugs in
  56. RiScript, plus a text file detailing some problems with trying to use
  57. RiScript on Windows PS files.  rs_hints.arc was updated on 07/06/96.
