  23. This application is freeware, although PD libraries may distribute 
  24. without asking for permission.

  27. What Is MatrixMap?
  28. ==================
  29. About two days ago I downloaded the set of files that comprises the
  30. MatrixTRK set of modules and resources written by Michael Pohle and
  31. Marko Lukat.
  32.  
  33. These modules allow playing of ScreamTracker (filetype S3M) files
  34. natively in RISC OS (abeit after converting them to MatrixTRK format), 
  35. whereas beforehand you had to play them with any obliging Windows 
  36. proggy (bleurgh!).

  38. Now, these modules are great but they are only SWI and CLI tasking,
  39. and the authors said that they didn't have time to write a front-end.
  40. Well, the modules in their present form (and these should be updated
  41. according to the documents that accompanied the modules) don't offer
  42. any real functionality over playing the MatrixTRK files. All you
  43. can do is change the volume, alter which track is playing, and change
  44. the sample rate. Even so, it was becomming a pain to keep going
  45. into the CLI or BASIC to stop the track, or change the volume etc..

  47. Therefore the application you see before you was quickly (and I 
  48. MEAN quickly) written to allow quick alteration of those settings
  49. from the desktop. I know that the features are severly limited,
  50. but as the MatrixTRK modules become more advanced with more
  51. features, I'll expand this application accordingly.

  54. How To Use It
  55. =============
  56. To use this application, load any MatrixTRK track as usual, and then
  57. load this application and click on the !MatrixMap icon to display 
  58. the main MatrixMap window. Alter the settings as fit! What more can 
  59. I say?!

  92. An Appeal!

  94. Do you like this software? The answer's probably 'No', because it was very
  95. easy to write and it only offers a front-end to a set of modules...
  96. However, would you like to see every aspect of later MatrixTRK modules
  97. supported as they become available? Yes? In that case...

  99. This software is freeware, you don't have to pay, but a small contribution
  100. would be nice to ensure I keep working on this. 'Why?' you ask. Well, my
  101. girlfriend lives in Livingston and studies in Edinburgh, I live in
  102. Birmingham and study at Reading. It costs loads to see her, so I need
  103. some cash! (Before you ask, yes, I'm looking for a job!)
