- The Application
- ===============
- It's very small:
-
- !MatrixMap
- \
- - !Boot
- !Help (This file)
- !Run
- !RunImage
- !Sprites
- !Sprites22
- Templates
-
- This application is freeware, although PD libraries may distribute
- without asking for permission.
-
-
- What Is MatrixMap?
- ==================
- About two days ago I downloaded the set of files that comprises the
- MatrixTRK set of modules and resources written by Michael Pohle and
- Marko Lukat.
-
- These modules allow playing of ScreamTracker (filetype S3M) files
- natively in RISC OS (abeit after converting them to MatrixTRK format),
- whereas beforehand you had to play them with any obliging Windows
- proggy (bleurgh!).
-
- Now, these modules are great but they are only SWI and CLI tasking,
- and the authors said that they didn't have time to write a front-end.
- Well, the modules in their present form (and these should be updated
- according to the documents that accompanied the modules) don't offer
- any real functionality over playing the MatrixTRK files. All you
- can do is change the volume, alter which track is playing, and change
- the sample rate. Even so, it was becomming a pain to keep going
- into the CLI or BASIC to stop the track, or change the volume etc..
-
- Therefore the application you see before you was quickly (and I
- MEAN quickly) written to allow quick alteration of those settings
- from the desktop. I know that the features are severly limited,
- but as the MatrixTRK modules become more advanced with more
- features, I'll expand this application accordingly.
-
-
- How To Use It
- =============
- To use this application, load any MatrixTRK track as usual, and then
- load this application and click on the !MatrixMap icon to display
- the main MatrixMap window. Alter the settings as fit! What more can
- I say?!
-

- Me
- ==
- I'm a 3rd Year Computer Scientist & Cyberneticist studying at Reading
- University (in the UK). Contacting me is fairly easy, although snail
- mail has to go home, because I'm being thrown out of my current abode
- and I don't know where I'll end up living next year!
-
- e-mail me on : ssu94125@reading.ac.uk (Until July '97)

- spike, FA, Clive, Zeb and everyone else on the
- hills...
-
- Also to: Jon, Clare, Jonathan, Tams, Sam, Darran, Gerard
- and everyone else (the list is endless, none of
- this lot use Acorn comps., so I guess I'm alright
- in leaving them out... ;-))
-
-
- An Appeal!
- ==========
- Do you like this software? The answer's probably 'No', because it was very
- easy to write and it only offers a front-end to a set of modules...
- However, would you like to see every aspect of later MatrixTRK modules
- supported as they become available? Yes? In that case...
-
- This software is freeware, you don't have to pay, but a small contribution
- would be nice to ensure I keep working on this. 'Why?' you ask. Well, my
- girlfriend lives in Livingston and studies in Edinburgh, I live in
- Birmingham and study at Reading. It costs loads to see her, so I need
- some cash! (Before you ask, yes, I'm looking for a job!)
