  30. Acquiring the package:

  32. Download the archive files and extract using SparkPlug 2 (see the "tools_help"
  33. file in arch/riscos/tools for further info).

  35. If you are having trouble downloading large files and transferring them
  36. by 720k floppy then you may be able to split them up into smaller pieces
  37. and recombine them using SPLIT (b131).  Executables are available for
  38. Acorn, PC, Sun and VAX.

  43. GCC is a RISC OS port of the GNU C compiler.  This version can
  44. compile C, C++ and Objective C programs.  A linker is not supplied
  45. but a suitable one can be found in DRLINK (b071).  Note that small
  46. memory machines with a RISC OS version 3.11 or less will probably require
  47. VIRTUAL (a277) to run gcc.
