Citizens of those countries which are participants of the Universal Copyright
Convention (the Rome Convention) are hereby made aware of the following
copyrights declared on the files within this archive:
All files within this archive are © [or (C)] 1995,1996 Niall Douglas. They
may be freely distributed at will by whatever means so long as they are
unaltered and no unreasonable profit is made from their distribution [1].
Please note that in countries adhering to this convention, you are now
legally prevented from distributing altered copies of the files within this
archive in any form whatsoever. Please also note that in countries which are
signatories of the International Union for the Protection of Literary and
Artistic Works (the Berne Convention), there may be additional restrictions
imposed on the handling of these files.
Finally, under current legislation in most European countries, computer ideas
cannot be patented. May I remind those reading that this works both ways -
thus I can copy things from other GUIs as much as they can copy from me, so
long as trademark and copyright infringement does not take place. I'm
assuming that anyone who would nick my ideas wouldn't be so stupid as to name
them 'tornado', so I haven't bothered trademarking the word. Mind you,
looking at Apple's trashcan - why bother nicking the idea and then calling it
'trashcan' (which is trademarked) when you could call it 'dustbin'???

[1]: Note here that 'unreasonable profit' would be any profit at all. A
charge may be levied for the cost & processing and/or postage and packaging
of a disc containg these files but NOT for the files themselves.
I would also add that while it is not necessary, I would be very grateful
if any PD libraries wishing to put discs containing this data available for
the public would contact me and let me know of them doing this.
