  34. EarthMap is an electronic globe. It draws on a huge database consisting of
  35. 5,719,617 line segments, describing coordinates and shape of a number of
  36. natural and man-made features on Earth. This includes coastlines, country
  37. borders, rivers, lakes, canals, glaciers, etc..

  39. EarthMap provides an extensive array of viewing facilities, including pan,
  40. zoom and coordinate entry. In addition, any view may be saved as a Draw file.
  41. EarthMap is also very fast. Special care has been taken to make view updates
  42. as fast as possible.

  44. The EarthMap database files can be obtained on the internet, for example
  45. ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/graphics/data/cia-wdb  or from the RISC PC StrongARM
  46. processor card CD-ROM.
