Typist 1.00 (15 - 8 - 1993)
---------------------------
Typist is a port of a UNIX program allowing one to learn how to type. The
program was ported to UNIX by D. Jason Penney. The original author is
unknown. The source code is written in C and can be obtained via anonymous
ftp or by sending me a request via email.
Typist makes use of the UNIX curses library which has been ported to RISCOS
succesfully by Brian Brunswick. Typist will work under RISCOS2 or 3 I think.
To use the program simply double click on the !Typist icon and a window will
appear in which the typing lessons take place. Different lessons can be
selected by typing in the desired lesson name. If you want to skip a certain
exercise, pressing escape will do the trick. Quit the program by closing the
window. Please don't bother to try any of the dvorack exercises. I haven't
compiled the software needed for this keyboard driver. I don't think anyone
will need it anyways unless they own a SUN sparc station.
I have not done anything to make this port efficient in any way. I simply
recompiled the software as it was using Brian Brunswick curses port.
If you encounter any problems then try to contact me at the adress below.
I will try to solve any problems or bugs if possible.
