  1. Games Publishers Endorse the Acorn Platform

  3. Acorn Computers has secured the backing of leading mainstream games
  4. publishers to increase the number of entertainment titles available on the
  5. Acorn platform.  In a related initiative, Acorn has announced that
  6. experienced ARM programmers will be available to help software houses port
  7. leading games titles to run on Acorn systems.

  9. Further underpinning Acorn's drive into the consumer market, software for
  10. Acorn computers will now be supplied to high street retailers by CentreSoft,
  11. a leading distributor and wholesaler of home entertainment software.

  13. The three-pronged attack, which was finalised at the end of July, will
  14. increase the number of games publishers offering titles on Acorn computers
  15. to include the mainstream publishers US Gold, Gremlin, Renegade, Ocean and
  16. Electronic Arts.  In addition, CentreSoft's relationship with leading high
  17. street multiples is expected to result in the early availability of Acorn
  18. titles in key retail outlets such as Virgin, Boots, John Menzies, John Lewis
  19. and W H Smith.

  22. are strongly positioning Acorn as the choice for home 'edutainment'
  23. computing.  Acorn already has an impressive range of education software, but
  24. we recognise the need to balance this with a strong base of entertainment

  29. same time as the PC and Amiga formats, and then get them into key retail
