  5. The Acorn Archimedes edition of the Hutchinson Multimedia Encyclopedia, the
  6. first British electronic encyclopedia, was released on 23rd May 1993.
  7. Published by ATTICA Cybernetics Limited, it incorporates a large quantity
  8. of colour photographs, sound clips and maps. This will be the first
  9. multimedia encyclopedia available to Acorn computer users, which account
  10. for approximately half of UK schools.

  12. The Hutchinson Multimedia Encyclopedia, RISC OS version developed in
  13. conjunction with PEP Associates, includes over 1500 photographs and
  14. illustrations, maps, textual data and over 250 sound clips. This version
  15. provides an absorbing and stimulating environment for library services in
  16. business, government and education.

  18. This CD-ROM title provides over 25,000 articles, thousands of
  19. cross-references and hundreds of tables all classified under six headings:
  20. Aspects of Society, History, The Arts, Places, Life Sciences and Science
  21. and Technology. Upgrades from the text only version of this electronic
  22. encyclopedia are available at a special price exclusively from Cumana
  23. Limited.

  25. The Hutchinson Multimedia Encyclopedia comes with powerful retrieval
  26. software supporting searches by individual and combinations of words, and
  27. thousands of hypertext cross-references allowing you to browse freely
  28. through the data. Text and pictures may be incorporated into school
  29. projects by using standard word processing programmes.
