  6. Acorn Assist offers Personal Purchase Power to Teachers

  8. Acorn Computers, the leading supplier of computers to UK schools, is once
  9. more offering teachers, lecturers and others in the education community the
  10. opportunity to buy their own Acorn computer by taking advantage of its
  11. highly successful subsidised finance scheme, Acorn Assist. For the first
  12. time, those who take up the offer can now benefit from free software and
  13. collect points towards free gifts when they introduce a friend to the
  14. scheme.

  16. Acorn Assist has already enabled thousands in the educational world to
  17. spread the cost of buying a computer for all sorts of uses in the home, be
  18. it to support their professional work, to amuse their families, or even to
  19. run clubs or the PTA. Now, for the first time, the scheme has been expanded
  20. to cover the whole range of educational products, from the Pocket Book
  21. personal computer right through to the top-of-the-range A5000 Series.

  23. Details of this year's scheme, which is valid from 1 October 1993 until 31
  24. December 1993, are attached.

  26. Peter Talbot, Acorn's General Manager for UK Education, commented: "Our
  27. research shows that two thirds of teachers now use computers as part of
  28. their everyday classroom activity. Many of these would like to be able to
  29. prepare or catch up on work in the comfort of their own homes.

  38. they introduce friends to the scheme."

  41. community. Those interested in purchasing through the scheme can telephone
  42. the free hotline number, 0800 400 800, to ask for an Assist pack. Then they
  43. simply contact their local Acorn dealer to agree their preferred model,
  44. price and finance details.
