“ I m a g e F r e e ”
Display used and free space in partitions and other image files
© David Thomas, 1997
version 1.00 (06 Sep 1997)

Introduction ______________________________________________________________
Ever needed to see how much free space your PC partition had in it, but
didn't want to have to boot up the PC software to find out?
This small utility program provides an icon on the icon bar to which you
can drag your PC partition, or any other 'image' file, to reveal how much
free space it contains.
It displays its findings in a window, very nearly identical to the
standard Free space display.
Usage _____________________________________________________________________
Load ImageFree by double-clicking on it's icon in a filer window. It will
load and display it's icon on the right hand side of the icon bar.
Drag any 'image' file to the icon bar icon to reveal how much used and free
space that image file contains.
Note that certain image filing systems don't usefully implement the 'read
free space' call, so certain file types will inform you they have gigabytes
of free space; which clearly isn't true. Some image FSs don't support the
call at all (StrongHelp doesn't, for one).
