  36. Patches filer so that the system font text in the "Full info" display is
  37. replaced by the same outline font as the rest of the desktop.

  41. Patching the Filer
  42. ------------------

  44. Note: This patch only works with Filer version 1.64 (the one in RISC OS 3.1x)
  45.  
  46. Simply double click on the !OutFiler application. This should create a new
  47. file called "NewFiler" in the same directory. This is the patched Filer module.
  48. When run, the version number of the Filer is checked, and if it is not 1.64 then
  49. a error is reported.

  51. This patch has been tested with "FilerPatch" v1.15 by Jens H. Ovesen. By running
  52. !OutPatch after !FilerPtch, "FilerPatch" v1.15 can be patched to use outline
  53. fonts.

  57. Installing the new filer
  58. ------------------------

  60. The new Filer module created by !OutFiler must be loaded before the desktop is
  61. started. This is easily done as part of your boot sequence by, for example,
  62. adding the following lines
  63. *RMLoad SCSI::SCSI_4.$.!Boot.NewFiler
  64. (Note: replace the path to the !Boot application with that for your own system
  65.        or your preferred location of the files)

  67. NOTE: To work, the module OutlineWimp (file outlnwimp) must be loaded as well.
  68. This should be done anyway if you are using the patched WindowManager.
