  25. 07-Aug-90: Current release has a problem with cmdunh10; the outline font
  26. file was corrupted and I've not been able to restore it yet.  Also there is
  27. a known bug in output of pages to draw files, to do with positioning of
  28. rules.

  34. 30-Jan-91: Here is Graham Toal's demo version of his ArMaTuReS distribution
  35. of TeX. It includes only a few fonts. In particular it does NOT include the
  36. maths fonts. However it is complete enough to show you how well the
  37. ArMaTuReS  distribution works. Note that moving it to hard disc (altering
  38. !Boot and !Run files appropriately) leads to a considerable speed increase.

  40. In this demo version I have included my fix of the cmdunh10 problem
  41. mentioned above. Briefly, the outline font file has been reordered to
  42. conform to cmr10 ordering (which I presume was the ordering prior to
  43. corruption) and the cmr10 intmetrics file has been ``borrowed'' to be used
  44. as a cmdunh10 intmetrics file. However there still appear to be some bugs
  45. in the behaviour of cmdunh10 -- be warned!
  46.  
  47. The ArMaTuReS distribution Preview claims to require the following modules
  48. in order to perform:

  54. These are available from Graham Toal. HOWEVER I have found Preview works in
  55. an entirely satisfactory way using

  61. (available for example on the RISCOS extras disc) and I have adapted the
  62. Preview !Run file of this demo version  accordingly.

  65. Note that Preview allows one to save pages in Drawfile  format, thus
  66. permitting a (slow) way of obtaining draft quality hardcopy. For hardcopy on
  67. laser printers et cetera you need to obtain the full ArMaTuReS distribution
  68. from Graham Toal or (via anonymous ftp) from phoibos.cs.kun.nl in directory
  69. /pub/ArMaTuReS.

  74. To work on a new document  doc do the following:
  75. {i} create new folder doc,
  76. {ii} write TeX file into doc.tex,
  77. {iii} drag directory doc onto !TeX application icon,
  78. {iv} drag directory doc onto !Preview application icon.
