  1. Opinions Issue 4 (c) 1992 Linton Dawe.

  3. This is the fourth issue of the Opinions disc
  4. magazine produced by Linton Dawe.  It contains
  5. loads of features including general information,
  6. public domain pages and information on the latest
  7. releases from Liquid Data Software.  This issue
  8. fills a complete disc - infact I had to cut the
  9. white space of most of the page header sprites
  10. to fit it on - so don't try copying anything
  11. else onto it!
  12.  
  13. To start the magazine disc, just double click on
  14. !Opinions4.  This will bring up a filer window
  15. conatining 3 applications - !Colour!, !TheMag!
  16. and !ThePD!.  !TheMag! is the main magazine,
  17. !Colour! contains some pretty graphics screens and
  18. !ThePD! contains some of the public domain
  19. software mentioned in the P.D. pages.
  20.  
  21. To read the main magazine double click on the
  22. !TheMag! icon in the filer window to load the main
  23. program.  After loading, a contents page will be
  24. displayed and you should click on the icon for the
  25. section that interests you (any button).  The
  26. screen will fade out and after a short wait the
  27. first page of your selected section will be
  28. displayed.  Clicking on Next Page will take you to
  29. the next page in the magazine (even if it takes
  30. you into the next section) and clicking on
  31. Contents Page returns you to the contents page. 
  32. Once again, any mouse button is allowed. When you
  33. have finished, press Escape to quit the Opinions
  34. text reader.

  36. Clicking on !ThePD! brings up a filer window
  37. containing the software itself.  Most of the
  38. software in this section has it's own !Help files
  39. and is fairly self explanatory to use with some
  40. knowledge of RISC OS and common sense.

  42. Click on !Colour! to view the colour graphics
  43. screens and press escape when you have finished.

  45. Further issues of Opinions are planned and I would
  46. welcome any articles by readers for publication in
  47. a later issue.  See the magazine for details.

  49. If you have a particularly badly stocked or
  50. expensive source of P.D. and you wish to obtain
  51. future issues of Opinions or any of the P.D.
  52. software mentioned in the Public Domain pages but
  53. not included in !ThePD! directly from me, you can
  54. do so by sending a blank disc and a £1 coin to
  55. cover costs, but this should not prove too much of
  56. a problem to most readers.  If this disc cost you
  57. seriously more than about £2 then I would recomend
  58. that you find another P.D. library - it is usually
  59. possible to obtain software for around £1.50 or
  60. less per disc.
