  6. To the casual observer there is little or no difference between a
  7. company car and the ordinary private car.  But here is a list  of
  8. some  of the things that a company car can do that  private  cars
  9. cannot.

  11.      Did  you know, for example, that a company car  will  travel
  12.      faster in all gears, especially reverse?  They also acceler-
  13.      ate  at a phenomenal rate and enjoy a much  shorter  braking
  14.      distance.
  15.  
  16.      Ramps  prove no hindrance as company cars can take  them  at
  17.      twice  the  speed of ordinary cars.  And they  have  a  much
  18.      tighter turning circle.

  20.      Battery,  water,  oil and tyre pressures do not need  to  be
  21.      checked  nearly  as  often.  Indeed, a company  car  can  be
  22.      driven up to 100 miles with the oil warning light flashing.

  24.      Company  cars  do not need to be garaged at night  and  they
  25.      require cleaning less often, especially inside.  To this end
  26.      the floor is shaped like an ashtray.

  28.      They only burn petrol with the highest Green Shield rating.

  30.      A  special adaptation is incorporated to allow reverse  gear
  31.      to be engaged whilst the car is still moving forwards.

  33.      On construction company cars the suspension is reinforced to
  34.      allow the carriage of concrete slabs and other heavy  build-
  35.      ing materials.

  37.      Tyre walls are specially designed to allow bumping into  and
  38.      over curbstones.

  40.      The  quality of paintwork is such that scratches  and  dents
  41.      are not noticeable and they are immune to accidents.

  43.      Company  cars need no security.   They may be left anywhere,
  44.      unlocked and with the keys in the ignition.

  46. Despite the superior specification of company cars, there may  be
  47. times  when they produce alarming engine noises.  This is  easily
  48. eliminated how ever by adjusting the volume control of the radio.
